Btw, since all sexperts are here, i got this question...

 

Can i use a cross RJ45 cable to connect a wired IP cam to a laptop, and then when motion detect, it wake up the laptop from hibernation.

 

I know IP cam can config to send email when motion detect, but will tat wake up the laptop? or can we set the cam to send magic packet?

Good job.... I am very interested in also setting up a carputer...Car to share what 3G router you are using? Was searching for it at a few shops but could not find it.... Did you install the router in the boot of your car? How good is the reception or do we need to install it in the passenger compartment for good reception and how did you power up the router? (inverter? and problems with power spikes when turning on engine?). I assume that we can insert any service provided mobile broadband sim card in the router. Thanks.

I'm also running my PS3 inside, so i need a wireless router. I've tried using my mac as a router but the problem is that i've to login everytime i try to connect to the internet. So that defeats the purpose of total mobility... :)
