Xiao_qiang 1st Gear October 10, 2008 Share October 10, 2008 (edited) Bro & Sis Finally got my lug nut issue solved. Time to change new shoes for my car. Comtemplating between the above mentioned models. Which is a better buy? Thai Eagle F1 or Indo Falken ZE 912. I want good wet condition, and comfort if possible. But both have a little bit of each hence not sure which is the better choice. Your advice is appreciated, thanks. Route88 2nd Gear October 10, 2008 Share October 10, 2008 Sorry,no review, but the thread is sexy. There are lots of threads mentioning abt F1 tat i've read...go dig it up.
Crusader75 Neutral Newbie October 10, 2008 Share October 10, 2008 I've used Eagle F1 before and I really like the road holding when wet... supposedly the dry traction is not as good but I did not try to find out... As for the Zeix-912, I've heard more bad reviews from users... so I think F1 is a safer choice.
Boyboy 1st Gear October 10, 2008 Share October 10, 2008 the only thing that matters, that the eagle F1 might lose out to the 912, is the noise level. comfort-wise, eagle F1 is decent, cos of the overly soft sidewalls. but it's reputed to be noisy. personally i have high noise tolerance so dun ask me, though i use the eagle F1. have used them for 9k now, so far it's an excellent everyday usage tyre. drive safe though. no tire can compensate for careless driving. Xiao_qiang 1st Gear October 10, 2008 Author Share October 10, 2008 Bro Not to worry.. I wanted good wet grip becos I travelled east to west everyday.. And my current (worn out) DNA DB is not providing a very good grip during rainy days.. Hence I want something better during the rainy period since I cannot predict when it will rain during my journey.. But the noise level is good for my current set.. Hence not sure if I can take the noise of the F1.. Thanks for the reminder though..
Xiao_qiang 1st Gear October 10, 2008 Author Share October 10, 2008 Bro who selected the ZE 912 Do provide your input so that I can compare better.. Thanks.
Bleuzone 1st Gear October 14, 2008 Share October 14, 2008 I'm using Toyo T1R, and find it good. I like to think of it as the improved version of the F1. Aren't the Japs good at doing that, taking current technology and improving on it? T1R is a decent set of tires. It's a bit soft though, so the tradeoff for comfort and better grip is faster wear. Paikia_rav Neutral Newbie October 14, 2008 Share October 14, 2008 I raise both hands and both legs for Eagle F1. Used the Falken 912 for awhile as it comes with the car. On dry is ok, wet abit slippery, but when on dry hard cornering, the 912 can't hold the road as well as I thought it should. Thought break in the tyres will be better, but by 500km still not as good. Traded in the tyres at PH at 700km. Using Firenza now and super regret, grip is good but very noisy, should have insisted on Eage F1. Used the Eagle F1 with the latest thread design for two of my previous cars. The grip is surprisingly good both on dry and wet. Hard dry cornering the tyres grip well and the control is there. I cant say for the older thread (which i used back in 2000-01), but the new made in thailand Eagel F1 is really value for $. There's Made in Germany ones too but I think most dealers bring in the tomyam ones instead since the grip and noise level are very good and comparable to the German ones. Bleuzone 1st Gear October 14, 2008 Share October 14, 2008 Bro, I don't have the pricing per tyre as I got mine with my rims, but my colleague just did a check. F1 is 115, and T1R is 150 for 16 inch.
Eric211 Neutral Newbie October 14, 2008 Share October 14, 2008 Used both before: ZE912: WET = 8.5/10, DRY = 7/10, pump 220 rear & 215 front. Low noice level F1 : WET = 8/10, DRY = 8/10, PUMP 220 rear & front. High noice level Overview F1 is Above is just my personal view and my is MIT Colt. It might be perform different between hatch & sedan.
Iygnaug 1st Gear October 14, 2008 Share October 14, 2008 I have not used eagle F1 yet, so can't comment on the tire. I am now on 15' ZE912 though. For the price i paid for the tires, imho it's really value for money. I do agree the wet grip is better than the dry grip. This is not to suggest that it has a bad dry grip. Noise level is decent, i won't say quiet. I chosed it because the design of the thread is very similar to what i had intended to buy but didn't. No regrets so far for me. I think for usual driving patterns, it is more than enough.

Eric211 Neutral Newbie October 14, 2008 Share October 14, 2008 He said F1 good, he said 912 good. Everybody have their own valid reason, so which is better? Solution: front use F1 & rear use 912... ↡ Advertisement
