Why the road surface in KPE is bumpy ?

I actually avoid KPE if i can, cos its simply too slow. sweatdrop.gif

I am staying in North-East, taking KPE to town (e.g Suntec) only need 20mins, much shorter than going by CTE.

I suppose I want to enjoy my drive, not just a means of getting to my destination, so I'd rather drive further and ensure that it's more satisfying..laugh.gif

depends on which period u are driving at.. if during peak hrs, then driving on CTE can be torturous at times... stop go stop go and very slow.. as compared to KPE which is constant flow at 70kmh and take shorter time to reach city as compared to CTE during peak hrs.

but if during non peak hrs, then i would say CTE is a good route to take compared to KPE cos cars can move at 90kmh which might result in a smoother and shorter travelling..

at least its comforting to know that i'm not alone..avoiding KPE until they fix this up...its going to damage our coilovers..not to mention suspension bushings..

More or less, they will not be bothered about it until a few more years to come... Maybe they are "running-in" the road first. When the road is run-in, then they increase speed limit to 80km and do resurfacing.

I just write in to LTA yesterday. And today the contractor and LTA personnel called me.I told them, the road was bumpy, the road stripe also cause my car to bump everytime i drove over it.Their reply, road bumpy is because it's new.it'll be ok after a while. [shocked][shocked][shocked] Then they mention abt the stripe, they say stripe has height limit, cannot be too thick,if too thick, they will remove and redraw it. [laugh] What a lame excuse, why no QC?only QC when people complain. So here,I urge all MCFer to write in,call in to LTA to complain whichever road they uncomfortable with, they will send ppl down to justify,if really cannot, they will ask contractor to repair. If all MCFer chips in,think our road will be as smooth as baby's buttock.

well maybe you can try driving down from TPE.

i took that exit today. will exit after PIE's KPE/Bendemeer/Kallang Bahru exit.

Ok thanks! I'm glad KPE is well-connected. It allows me to avoid the dreaded CTE jams.

Impossible for them to 偷工减料 as the project is directly under LTA and for this kind of projects, there will be consultants and LTA personnel will be constantly monitoring. Also when the whole road is finish, LTA might ask them to dig down a small part of the road and measure the thickness of each layer of the road. Our road composition is quite strict which contractor must ensure the thickness of various composition like soil, granite stone, quarry dust and Asphalt. There is a certain level of compaction required.
