Hi guys...question. Im considering getting the TTS MK2, COE car for my next ride. I just re-took my license and I know the insurance is gonna cost me a bomb. That aside, is it worth to get this ride? The mileage is pretty low...100k, and the seller has changed all the mechanical parts because he intends to drive it for quite awhile, but has to sell it because of overseas work committment. Ive seen the car and its in fantastic condition inside out. No accidents too. What say you guys? =)

Hi All,

I have bee looking around for a TT just for my daily drive. Intending to get a MK2 09 COE car. After googling around, realise that there is a difference between the TT and the TTS version. TTS is like a mod version of the TT with twin turbos. Does it mean the TT is only a single turbo?

Is anyone here driving any of these? How's the maintenance like?

Does the TT suffer from the DSG gear problem too?

Thanks,

Thanks,

U sure u did correct research bro haha

Same as pple who always think bmw "twin power" turbo is twin turbo.

TT is 2.0 single turbo 197hp

TTs is 2.0 single turbo with uprated tune 268hp

TTRS is 2.5L Single turbo 5cyclinders 335hp

The DSG in TT (wet 6speed) still considered reliable but will still require maintenance. Change of DSG oil n filter (every 60k km preferred) , change of clutch at 100K. If u buying a renewed COE car, might consider the above.

Alot of small little things which will wear n tear (coolant pumps, rubber pipes, engine oil leaks.

Your biggest worry should be the dsg mechatronics if ever.

Still a fun car nonetheless with mod potentials.

350-400hp on the 2.0L if u want to go extreme

The TTrs is a mod monster

Yup, defintely did a poor research. Now I know the TTS has beefed up internals with a K04 tubro compared to the TT.

I always wondered why the 60hp difference between the 2 engines but I guess, the TT with the smaller K03 is more fun to drive within SG considerng the smaller turbo lag...
