I saw ur thread and saw your intention for the models. It seems that you miss out the currently there is the i30 model that is relative close to the M3. Maybe u can consider that as well? Last week the price for the car is 44,999 without sunroof and 48,999 with sunroof.

I have owned both korean and Japanese cars before. It depends on how much you are willing to part, the quality is always related to price.

 

However, I find that certain Japanese brands tend to demand higher premium due to branding. So you are not paying what you get. Of course if the re-sale market is good, you can sell higher. Not now under this condition.

 

 

I am driving a Chevorlet now. Although this is a korean design and Thai made, somehow the feel is better than those korean and Jap I owned previously. I can't say why but the road holding and solidness of the car is just different.

 

With the low COE and finiancial crisis plus low Won. Maybe it is a good time to buy Korean?

I30 is base on Kia Ceed. Overall it had a more conti feel since it is targeting europe market.

i30 is a new model compared with Avante. i30 is hatchback & Avante is sedan. i30 is competing with VW Golf & Ford Focus. Avante is competing with Toyota Corolla Altis & Honda Civic. They may shared the same engine but i30 shared the platform with KIA Ceed.

yes i own the i30 that i was recommanding. Maybe seeing is beliving so if you can drop by KM showroom and take a look plus test drive both cars to feel the difference. For me i think the car is worth it becoz

 

1. Interial design and comfort - 1 of the best in the 1.6 cat

2. Booth space - suprising big for a hatchback.

3. Eur feel both interal and external

4. Avanta engine - means good FC if you were to compare to other hyundai model engine

5. Good stability - use to mod my pervious ride for better handling like tien and etc but for this car even stock is good for high speed cornering and etc.

6. Good sound proofing - can be better but comparing stock to stock vs other models. one of the best in the class.

7. Aircon - not only front but got blower at the back too if u want to cool ur feet.

8. Sunroof - 48k for sunroof. Limited find i would say. well better then me i paid 54k for it

 

I cant think of others right now but maybe you can see the review from topgear where they normally bash asian cars.

the current batch is already the new 2009 facelifted model... but it's only very minor cosmetic changes (e.g. displays on the dashboard, changes to interior trimings colours, etc) ... that's why price is not increased
