Cjgoh Neutral Newbie July 23, 2009 Share July 23, 2009 Not at that price... retail price think is $380 No stocks now also, waiting for stocks to arrive. Don't forget to enable your pm less you miss out on something again Well it is up to personal preference... you want you can wait... maybe 10 years later if have then you buy lor and cost a bomb This is the closest one can get at the moment, maybe you also like to wait for handphones in the size of ear pieces then you buy HP? Or don't buy a car with tires until the airless tires become available to mass market? Must be realistic, you want ultimate stuff you can wait forever or you settle with the next best thing now and enjoy first Actually the device isn't big. quite slim also. Oh hey bro, the technology I'm talking about is already available and in use. Just that NO ONE has the guts to import it here, or the government has silently prohibit its import for public use... But I believe it will eventually become available to motoring public.
Noelleon69 Clutched July 27, 2009 Share July 27, 2009 Cool... any links on it you might want to share? I'm curious to see how they make the image appear upright to the driver on an inclined glass. Since you talked about it why don't you share with us?

Noelleon69 Clutched November 25, 2009 Share November 25, 2009 Is the projected images focused at infinity on the wind screen? Focused at infinity? Meaning?
Wishcumstrue 6th Gear November 26, 2009 Share November 26, 2009 Focused at infinity? Meaning? A good HUD usually prevent driver's eyes from having to change focus between the outside world and the display of the HUD. For cars, the display is generally focused about front bumper distance. This means your eyes don't need to refocus when reading the projected image on the windscreen and when looking ahead outside. This reduces eye strain. Typically, aftermarket simple refraction-based HUD does not offer this feature.
Noelleon69 Clutched November 26, 2009 Share November 26, 2009 So in summary are you just asking if the HUD can be displayed higher up on the windscreen? The further you bring up the larger the size and it all depends on your dashboard and where you place the HUD. Unless you do not have any solar film, you will have to stick the reflective sticker so the focus will be there if not you will see double image. So ideally it won't be projected too high as the film can be too distracting.
Wishcumstrue 6th Gear November 26, 2009 Share November 26, 2009 So in summary are you just asking if the HUD can be displayed higher up on the windscreen? Sorry. The idea can be confusing unless one sees the real thing. Infinity projection is not related to the height of the display. It is about making the HUD image further away than it actuality is, hence reduces eye strain. The closest illustration is the 2 phots taken from Prius HUD. One shows You can see the speedo a little out-of-focus when the eye/camera is focused at distance objects while clearer when viewing closer ones. Noelleon69 Clutched November 27, 2009 Share November 27, 2009 Oh ok... get what you mean now, as in the distance ahead. So far still ok, I don't stare or look at the projection almost all the time. Besides sometimes it is like at the corner of my sight I can still just roughly see the speed without needing to refocus and look at the thing though of cost mostly I do. ↡ Advertisement
