No lehz. I am in this world to tell ppl that higher octane number doesnt mean that it is gd for the car.

Mine recommanded is 92 so i jus pump and the mileage got better. (not sure if its directly affected by e fuel)

I feel that there is no point in putting higher grade fuel into your car if it doesnt need it. Yes the difference is very little but we shouldnt throw $$ to the drain too rite. Best is follow the car manual.

Saw a Swift 1.3A pumping 98 @ Shell. I was like [shocked]

My aunt also swore by Caltex's 98 for her Verna 1.6. I tried telling her but she don believe. To prevent our relationship from deteriorating, i decided to give up telling her.

I believe all brands are the same. Just be sure you're using the right octance. For a Getz I'm sure the compression is low enough that you can use 92. In many places in the US, 91 or 92 octane is the highest available.

RON (Research octane number) and AKI (Anti-knock index) are 2 different things.

Place to start your research- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating

Best thing is to check your user manual. It will state clearly what petrol you can use.

For most japanese cars, they can accept RON92 as their min is RON91.
