you know, those spectacles cinemas lend us when watching a 3D movie?

used to be red/blue ones

but recently when i watched aliens vs monsters 3D the spectacles provided were black framed and with clear lenses!

and the 3D effects were better than i had seen b4!

so if i buy a 3D DVD movie to watch at home i need those glasses too rite?

where to buy?

thks

Will u feel giddy after the show?

nope. no giddiness at all when i watched aliens vs monsters 3D. and i am very prone to motion sickness. perhaps that movie not much camera shake.

if i watch the battle scene of Saving Private Ryan, or Cloverfield, which have plenty of camera shake, then confirm chop guarantee i feel giddy.

ginger pills are good remedy for motion sickness [thumbsup]

I just made some... bought red and blue cellophane ($1.20 per huge roll) from Bras Basah complex (can get from most art/stationery shops) . Googled for a 3d specs template - many around. Printed template to paper - cut out onto a carboard. Pasted red cellophane on left and blue on right... and voila! 3D glasses.

Tested on those 3d videos on you tube. Not bad.. i think if the blue cellophane was a lighter color, should be better results. But can see the 3d effect.

It really depends on the color of your screen to make it work. The blue is to be totally filtered out by the blue side of the glass and the red by the other side. Tried to watch spy kids 3d DVD last time, comes with the 3D glasses. In the end, color doesn't match, so cannot watch.

I wear spec, can be quite uncomfortable. Even my GF who is using contact also feel it is uncomfortable. We watched Ice age 3. Personally still preferred the good old 2D ones.

yeah... read that cyan would be a better color than just blue cellophane. Well.. back to the search for cyan cellophane.

I guess it is better to DIY than rely on the cinema supplied ready to wear type, as you can customise your own fit 3d glasses. The ready to wear may not be so comfortable over specs, or standard adult size may not fit the kids' heads. Imagine having to sit thru 2 hours of movie, fiddling with the 3d specs... very uncomfortable.

hi mate

Bought some of these before when I was researching the creation of 3D images. You can order from places such as 3D glasses

Have fun!

yup i am bespectacled, since primary 3. now degrees is each eye 1100, high astigmatism. when i watched aliens vs monsters at GV vivo the 3D glasses were very comfy even over my own spectacles, so no issue with discomfort. [thumbsup]

thks for the link matey!

but then just realised that there are so many different types of 3D glasses!

some ebay sellers selling 3D glasses which can only be used for certain movies or DVDs and not others...why ah?

aren't all 3D movies created with similar tech? [confused]
