I not trying to change your POV but I would like to urge you to go try their St Louis Prok ribs at $13.80. It is cheap at that price and come with free flow of nice bread. Then we can talk apple to apple as for me, this dish forms my opinion of the place. I believe other dishes on the menu might not be good, But it will be terrible for me to try those food to concur with you. The logic thing is you try the ribs then see whether you agree with me. My palate is not so discerning so when I tried the ribs from Tony Romas vs. Cafe Cartel, I don't find Tony Romas to be particularly better... and considering the price between the two, that' why I thought Cartel's ribs is quite good value for money.... In actual fact, both might be equally bad but I am none-the-wiser, especially when I down it with a couple of cans of ice cold beer... And my pockets aren't deep enuff so i never gotten to try Lawry's either.... But my taste buds also koyak so no point wasting this kind of $$... Sgnick 1st Gear August 27, 2009 Share August 27, 2009 used to patronise Kenny Rogers cos the price on display was nett price, now they add in 10% svc charge, which I feel not value for $ anymore. the chicken is kindly dry and tastless and end up have to use a lot of ketchup. some of the sides were nice though. so far only tried steak at Astons. not quite used to western style of chicken preparation, still prefer traditional hainanese chicken rice anytime. If really want chicken, nothing beats the Australian chains. Nando's or Oporto is heavenly. Too bad Nando's only in JB and both not in Singapore. Blueray Hypersonic August 27, 2009 Share August 27, 2009 for Coffee Bean breakfast I only go for the simple stuff like muffin or bagel, other stuff I find overpriced. one thing good about TCC is that their coffee got standard. but most of the time I still prefer coffee shop porridge bee hoon for breakfast, cannot afford to eat $10 breakfast every day, hahaha ... They used to be cheaper and without service charge... Now there is service charge and very long to serve, esp the one at Bishan... Seems like this cafe cartel ribs is drawing really opposite responses, perhaps it all boils down to who is the cook that day. It would be fun if more people of this forum is to eat there and post your opinion here. It is cheap and provide a good dinner outing with your date.
