Octopus 3rd Gear September 22, 2009 Share September 22, 2009 My model is just before the current one, not sure if it's the FL version. How do you tell, can advise? Saw on my forms that it's just written Altis 1.6D.... Current Altis is the FL version. Car size bigger and the wheel I think also bigger than the pre-FL Altis. Yours should be the pre-FL version. Elantrahatch Neutral Newbie September 26, 2009 Author Share September 26, 2009 thanks for your replies. I was actually deciding between the BS RE 001 or the Michelin's XM1. However, i think i will go for the XM 1 for the comfort. My car has horrific sound insulation..

I'm also looking into replacing tyres and XM1 is one of those I'm considering.
Elantrahatch Neutral Newbie October 1, 2009 Author Share October 1, 2009 Chcanged to XM1 about a week ago at Soh Brothers. Tyres are relatively new, manufactured 1909. Would say it is very identical to the GR80s in terms of comfort level and grip. Would expect it to be quiet initially but will input once I have more mileage with it. Fcw75 Hypersonic October 1, 2009 Share October 1, 2009 XM1 made in thailand. But Michelin very smart, they print the wording on the inside of the tyre. Bridgestone AR-10 also made in thailand. For the same class, only Yokohama DNA dB made in japan.
Beregond Supersonic October 1, 2009 Share October 1, 2009 BRIDGESTONE GR80 still in the market, but only 16-18 ' available. the direct replacement is AR10 for 14-15' ( both turanza series ) gr80 - jap ar10 - thai TOYO launch a new tyres call DRB . review so far is very good , but expect the pricing somewhere near gr80 japan make also . If u want some thing lower price and still japan made , comfort , ls2000 g.y is a good replacement also .

Buzzal Neutral Newbie October 1, 2009 Share October 1, 2009 was on GR-80s which were slightly over 2 yrs old and sounded like a rocket due to the age. Changed to Firehawk wide ovals as choices for my 14" size is very limited. So far, I can say the firehawk is a good replacement for GR-80 and pricing-wise it is competitive since it is made in Thailand
Beregond Supersonic October 3, 2009 Share October 3, 2009 Anyone know the price for the AR10. I'm looking at 195/65R15. should be about 125 +- depend on place. if u go a.m.k area u might be able to get it for 110? maybe, if u going to a high end place like autob--, they might quote u 130. End of the day it depend on the service , some place u get for a low price , but they dun change the valvue for u , p--,h--- in amk dun even balance your tyres . i get it for 121 , in the jurong side, i like their service , u can call 96918107 , i get from their card.
