Kurty Supercharged January 24, 2010 Share January 24, 2010 hi, wish to ask some questions pertaining to HU. Using a stock clarion HU, been airing mp3 from fm transmitter but find the sound quality still as suck. stock HU has AUX channel but the funny part is no ports. my questions: is it possible to find installer who can help to make an aux output? using a preamp with aux, could that allow me to connect my mp3 player for music? i know.. many may say to change a new HU that could support that, my stock is a 2 din and it seems i only using it as a device for mp3.. not even cd, already own a garmin gps.. so too gd, might be overkill in my scenario... pls advise. ↡ Advertisement
Charleslim Neutral Newbie January 24, 2010 Share January 24, 2010 most FM transmitter can only transmit audio frequency from 100Hz-15000Hz, while human ear can hear 20hz - 20000hz, that's why it's never as good as CDs. For your case you can go to any car audio shop to install the aux cable, mostly probably at the back of your HU. If your HU doesn't support Ipod, then you will need to control from the Ipod itself. You need to be aware that Ipod does not produce the best MP3 playback quality, normally a CD of MP3 can do better.
