I found this interesting data from Liverpool Board.

Giving us a clear picture of what Rafa had been doing in the Transfer windows. And break a lot of Myth by Media that Liverpool had a lot of money to spend.

Not only money to buy players but also buy and pay a good manager.

actually if you consider the player other manager sign and their hit rate... you will realise that he had done better...

The one thing we have to remember that unlike other clubs. Rafa have to sell before buying... hence if he fail... its very obvious as he got no back up player.

Usually, pple tend to remember those expensive signings only.

one thing i am curious is base on the above... ppl say in 5 years. there is 100s player come and go. Dont seems that much. unless they are refering to 100s of player release from academy. [sweatdrop]

I also think so... which i believe is the direction Rafa had been going for the pass 3 years. however, youth are not build over 1 days. he had actually only start overhauling the you academy this season... haha

For Pool, not that many made it since the turn of the century. I remember that is one by the name of David Mellor.....

Yeah the guy who score against Arsernal.. Now disappear into the lower league.

Rafa mention that he dont understand why there is 2 academy for youth in liverpool with one being a few km away and no chance for the 1st team manager to notice them.

I think someone should get the budget of Arsenal, den we can start talking.. So what if he has an average net spend of about 16.6m? The players he signed are tremendous - tremendous in the case of Alonso and Torres, and tremondous failures in the rest..

And yeah, Money does buy titles.. Maybe not instantly, but sooner or later, the clubs with the big bucks will be smelling the BPL title.. No money? Stand aside..That's the reality.. :)

Hit Rate? Out of the whole list, which players are seriously of top calibre other than El Nino, Alonso and probably Renia?

No disrespect, If u talk about Ferguson alone, I'm sure his hit rate is much better.. He has built 3 title winning squads already..

Yeah if you saying the signing of Veron, Valencia and the likes his hit rate is really ''fantastic'',

Rafa whole career span spending have around 4 to 5 player above 10 million. of which only Babel and Kean is consider a failure. The rest? bought at lower than 10 million and perform around a player of a 10 million. 'what more do you expect?

Arsernal team? most of them are bought at around 6~15Million of a unproven Youth and enter into its youth team or reserve team for at least 2 years. And are they ready that fantastic? i will say apart from a few like Fabregas, Van persi and Adebayor the rest wont make it into the top team in Europe what say in England as proven in the case when they leave Arsernal how many are still doing well? The only reason they look good in arsernal is because of the world class system that Wenger come out with.

So tell me who had fail so badly and how much do they cost and how much are they sold at?? go and have a look.

Most of your so call failure actually had their value inflated when they left. if they did not improve when in liverpool i wonder how come their value will improve.

dont forget, unlike the other tops 7 team in EPL, liverpool is the only team that have to sell in order to buy player.

Supercharged

Arsenal is a rare comodity, buying players at 1k, sell 20 times more also can.. But how many are truely world class, Van Persie? Fiberglass?? Nasri??

Then take a look at Man Utd::: Also spend a lot on flops mah, but also sell big with Ronaldo for a cool 80m..... But who are the world class stars?? Rooney and Vidic only...

Then take a look at Spurs, spend big also, sell big too.... Buy Keane, but ship him out on loan, sell the sulky Berba, good move in the end, sell Carrick too for a cool profir, but buy players like Bent who flopped, etc.. How many world class stars?? Modric can only be truely considered, but the likes of Ledley King (if he ever becomes fit and can play 2 games in 1 week, god, this guy does not even need to do training to play so well, he can shame Rio Ferdinand and John Terry anytime) and AAron Lennon will easily guarentee the first eleven in the team of manure, pool and chelski and arsenal.

Also findally look at the Pool team squad... Sadly only Pep Reina, Gerrard and Torres would be welcome at the top 4 teams....

If MAn Utd to choose pool players.. I tink Alex Ferguson will only pick Gerrard and Torres in his team..

If Arsenal to choose pool players.. I tink Wenger will choose Gerrard, Torres and Reina only....

If CHelski to choose pool players.. Tink Antelope will only choose Gerrard and Torres...

And even spurs to choose pool players... HR will play Gerrard and Torres only. Torres to replace Super Pav and Gerrard to replace Hudderstone..

Reina wont displace Gomes anytime.
