Hi there, sorry to dig up a 1 year old thread.

 

We have a 2008 M2SP with 80K. Does anyone know if the aircon belts/acc belt needs to be changed? What about the radiator thermostat?

 

Is there a mazda forum locally? I've not been able to search for it successfully.

air con belt or some pple called it the fan belt.

i changed at 80,000 km

Items i tried before for AE are its strut bar, anti roll bar, torsion beam, floor cross bar plus its illegal AE exos.

plus blistein shocks....

all are worthy stuffs

it will not make ur ride faster but it will make it more fun to drive

so if any pple are selling those, provided that u got the budget, its worth considering....

i drove the mazda2sp for 3 yrs b4 selling. it is a good car

- engine a bit noisy

- FC about 10-11km/L

- there is no boot release at driver seat

- very tall headroom

- sp version has sporty leather seats and switchblade remote key

- you wont believe this but it has more leg room than mazda3!

- activematic gear is solid

- steering controls

 

these are my feedback based on the FL sp version (i.e. the boxy one), not the new one that looks like peugeot

AFAIK, its using the timing chain.

 

Can't really comment if the parts are expensive as I only send my car to MM and CityAuto. So far, from memory I have changed the engine mount and fan belt. The engine mount was done at MM so it was quite ex. The engine belt was done by Cityauto. I can check my record for the exact price if you interested.

 

I'm driving the FL M2-SP (first batch). So far no major complaint for the car but things like ride comfort, engine noise etc can be subjective. I'm happy with it and has no plans to scrape the car (coming to 6.5 yrs).

Thk you for thr reply. Went to see one unit and find the space surprisngly good. Headroom is good, rear legroom is not too tight. The car looks like quite zippy if its on d rds. Cant test drive cos nv commit.

 

Whats d fc u got since u been driving it for so many yrs?

 

If mine is start top traffic. Wat will be estimate?

driving a 2010 hatch de...fc around 10-11kml...but best I got was 14 I think during up north trips...

 

still enjoying it though I got kids...just ample space for us on trips...and never under estimate the power...just need to know the use of the HOLD, S and L gears...best test is the BKE-SLE exit the curvy 2 lane...once you enter and take the 1st slice engage S and take 2nd turn with HOLD....come out smoking....better than flooring it..

Has heard abt the power isnt too bad for the car. I am actually lookning at the mzd2 SP version.

Mazda car design very nice but the price also very nice... Hard to compare to other brand..

I just bought a 2006 mazda 2SP . Fuel consumption does look on the high side, but the responsiveness of the engine is pretty neat. Braking is not very good. wanted to ask if any bros had braking distance issues withe the mazda 2?

Tire pressure and light right foot are usually the cause. BTW, are you always driving out of the highways and always waiting in a queue for parking lots? If so, your fuel consumption is about right. Unless u drive a car with Stop-start, city driving is pretty much a killer for fuel consumption.

Just changed my ATF at 72000KM. But I did not to a flush. just drain and top up. Is it safe?
