OPC fine?

any bro know the exact fine 1st time offender to drive during peak hr without valid day licence? call up LTA ask me wait for letter den appeal.

some say $500. $5000 is maximum. pls advice thanks!

Don't do it again. Objectively, I think there's really no excuse now that the system enables drivers to buy the day use license retroactively.

 

But to answer the question more directly, I've read from this forum that pleading guilty and showing remorse could land you a smaller fine.

bro, the thread was in 2007.. haha.. i drive opc for 4yrs without fail to tear coupon. last friday forgot to buy at axs machine.. only remember on sunday.

have met with a online seller b4, who happen to have been hauled to court for OPC offence. The receipt from court show 8k.

just wanna find out how much so that i can prepare. but if really $5000, if there is option to jail to offset the fine i will take up the option.

Yup, I know it was 2007, but I doubt LTA change the penalty.

i wanted to go down to surrender and pay the $500 fine but LTA say wait for letter and appeal.. last time they do that but now.. maybe too many case liao.

It has changed to low fine.

 

For the bro who forget to buy alternatives on the spot call Up LTA and it will be fine of nt getting yourself landed in the most unwanted situation. Hv you wonder, to buy for the next day e Licence but not to use it to compensate for the day you had used. Don't know it works as it will be a sincere effort you are trying to get before appeal to them.

 

Sometimes lucky enough you won't kanna fine unless caught physically.

Kana fined just to use your own car?... that's why i rather pay more and keep my normal plate car. Just not worth the headache imo.

for invalid or no supplimentary license. 1st timer, min 800. night court case. max: jail term up to 20K.

Sad to say, i had a fren who had a similar case previously. FYI LTA issue the summon letter with court date. No appeal will be entertain and yes the fine varies on your explanation to the judge. my friend was fined $3000. Appealed for 2months grace but only approved for 1month instead.

 

Its not worth to "hiong" in SG. s--t happens anytime, anywhere.

ok speaking thru experience... i was fined $10k with charge of tampering n w/o valid coupon (5k each)...no matter wat reason the still ask u to pay maybe reduce by 2k lah....payment outside the court can pay installment x2....learnt my lessons well....now convert my car to normal plate....no more worries....

I was told that they uses street cameras to pick up those OPC cars w/o license.
