If stock NA car of 1.6cc (non performance car) were to install Unichip Q, for the purpose of more torque gain, is it achievable?

For what? The purpose of Unichip is to maximum all performance of your RPM band. Be it road/dyno tune.. not worth the money if it's just to improved the slight performance gained.

However, i believe there are 2 types of tune, one is performance and one is mileage.

1.6 NA to get additional 30nm of torque just from tuning without any mods would not be possible as far as I know. Maybe with some major engine mods that amount might be achieveable but it'll be a hefty investment.

NA cars in general don't really scale much in absolute gains from tuning.

So in what aspect of improvement will i be able to see?

As this car is driven by my fiancee, so i won't be doing any engine or exhaust mod.

Yes, you can feel the difference. But prepare to sacrifice FC and use 98 petrol. My friend's 1.5L impreza installed Unichip. Performance difference is very obvious. Its alot more responsive now. But need to use 98 petrol.

You may also want to install aftermarket ignition systems like MSD, Mallory and increase the spark plug gap. Then you will gain even more low end torque. I installed a Mallory pro master coil and its very obvious. Much better low end torque.

Cars come directly from factory is always run richer so ppl go tune must not necessarily mean they wan performance. Its more of optimum air/fuel ratio. But run too lean and engine wil go up the lorry. Tats y dyno (MY OWN PERSONAL PREFERENCE) is needed.

The car will become more responsive although the hp/torque from dyno can be very little.

If you wanna save some money in the long run, pls tell your tuner that you want to use RON95 petrol. Most tuners will wanna squeeze every little bit of power out of the engines they tune. Thats why most piggyback tuned engines required RON98.

Save up your money..1600cc car w/o any major mods how to gain so much..There is no replacement for displacement...Remember this..You might not like what I say but trust me.Save up your money.

diff prospect i think.

to me, tuning is to optimize the performance n better drivability, dyno is 1 thing, actual drive is another thing.

n usually tuning to a stock car will get better or same FC

It can improve ur torque curve but to increase 30NM you mean, i guess it cannot be done unless you Turbo Charged it. Every 100cc gives about 10NM usually lesser on a NA.....

30 torque=30hp? If yes then it will nvr happen..For tat $800-$900 u spend, how to get this gain?

30 torque should be 30nm, not 30hp. But almost impossible IMHO to achieve for 1.6NA engine just by ecu tuning without major mod. [:)]

Even with major mod, 30nm will be very hard to achieve. Torque has always been the major weakness of NA engines compared to FI engines, simply because NA engines are designed to be more linear in power delivery.

The only result I can think of is your wallet will be thinner. Can yo upeople stop meddling with the poor little car?
