MTR trains are packed to brim

MTR pulling out seats and putting in standing positions

there is overload big time

i feel that MTR has reached there maximum capacity

maximum carriage and maxmum number of trains per 2 minutes interval

and hence planning parallel bus route with the MTR line

QUESTION

if plan long time ago 6.5million population

weaning populations from private transport

how come no planning for longer platform in train stations to accomodate future addition of trains

have they not factor in the increase demand

what are these multi-million dollar policy makers doing

are we s c r e w e d

buy car - kena s c r e w e d

take public transport - kena s c r e w e d

what are we suppose to do

what do you guys think will happen in the future to overcome our transport system

beforre we go about thinking of going underground

the relevant ministry must solve the increasing frequency of flooding

i dont want to carry by aqualung just to take the underground MRT

must go practice yoga

breathing exercise

i think in terms of train operator standards, SBS has become better or the OTHER one has fallen well behind.

I thought it was mentioned quite sometimes back that during peak hours, train frequency will be in the region of 2 to 4 minutes? I was at Buona Vista, citybound on the EW line. The information listed time to arrival at 6 minutes but it took a good 10 minutes to arrive. Trains heading towards to city at this timing are at worse sparse with plenty of room to spare. When the train came, i has to squeeze already let alone those commuters further down the line.

haiz, what to do? forehand and backhand is still same hand. Anyway Comfort Delgro and SMRT i heard have more substantial business interest(s) overseas. I think Comfort Delgro has the largest fleet of buses (in the world) based in the UK, i remember reading from an article about 4 years ago.

is there anything we can do or suggest to SMRT

Get more buses to meet frequency quality standards rather than asking drivers to drive faster to make up for the lack of buses.

Seems like bus accidents are getting more serious...the crane accident at Bedok....

Could it be due to FT?

Train services during off-peak hours...at about 4 pm+....are also getting very crowded....due to long interval of 7-8 mins b/w trains.....

Stupid idea of removing seats from the train and yet encouraging people to give up their seats to others......people are forced to be selfish...as there are times....one can be tired after a hard day work.
