Hmm.. Why wash & wax not recommended? Been using armorall wash & wax, both blue & orange version. Seems good.

there are many different saying...shampoo containing wax..left streaks marks when dry and u need to wash again..the wax causes wiper to judder..

actually most shampoo has wax content in it..this helps to enhance the gloss after wash..only thing is how much wax content is added in to shampoo..

what's APC? does it come off easily? mine looks as if it's corroded...previous owner didn't take care of it..

Anyone has any idea how to remove old wax/ stains/ etc from black trimmings around our car and restore their blackness? Shampoo and lots of scrubbing cant seem to help much.

I used a normal eraser to remove the stains. It will just erase the white stains left by the wax. Or u can use autoglym fast glass to remove the stains also.

Get a APC (All purpose cleaner) will do the job for you..make sure they are old wax stain and not the trimming turning whitish after long period..

Mine is actually a bit of both, wax stains and trimmings losing their blackness. For the 2nd part, any good remedies to recommend? [;)]

Only way i guess is keep on applying protectant on trims..
