Vulcann 6th Gear September 15, 2010 Share September 15, 2010 (edited) Read about this interesting though unconventional park bench designed by a German Fabian Brunsig. It was designed to, and I quote, "protest against the commercialisation of modern life" You put in 0.5 Euro, the spikes retract and you have yourself a nice spot to sit down, rest your legs but you have to get up after sometime when a siren announces the impending rise of the spikes. It was reported that Yantai Park in Shangdong Province in Eastern China actually installed this type of benches. Here's the website of the designer and a video clip on how the bench works: http://www.fabianbrunsing.de/ Edited September 15, 2010 by Vulcann ↡ Advertisement

Chewbacca 1st Gear September 15, 2010 Share September 15, 2010 What the fark is the world coming to? Sit on a bench also got to pay now? "protest against the commercialisation of modern life" It's more of an attempt at sarcasm and hyperbole more than anything else. So, relax, bro. Loki Supersonic September 15, 2010 Share September 15, 2010 very good idea leh for the MRT "special seats". Put money no spikes. Senior citizens just need to swipe their concession ez link cards to sit. Everyone else must pay to sit.
