Hi bros,

My car is now ok already. WS replaced the idling motor on my ride.

Total damage: $400 [sweatdrop]

For those bros on CS3, this is something to take note. I believe this problem will surface one day.

Cheers.

not to sure about Lancer GLX but if it is using cable thottle, ask them to go n fly kit... the only thing that can go wrong with the throttle is the cable (break), the throttle body is a very simple butterfly valve... with only a metal spring, and a valve and the throttle body itself, i really dont see how it could spoil... if really need to, some interval cleaning of Throttle body is more than sufficient n you can even DIY yourself. just goggle "DIY throttle body cleaning" and you can find tons of info...

... as for the idling rpm, just ask any WS that service your car to adjust it for you. It should be free if you service your car there. Its just simply adjusting a small nut/screw at the throttle body... its just a simple 2 min job .

However, if GLX is using E-Throttle, then forget about what i said... im not familiar with E-throttle

Maybe its the TPS that goes bad? Unlikely. However, I notice somce throttle housing has built in idle speed valve. thus if the valve goes back, you have to change the whole throttle.

I wouldn't do that though. Simple work around is to seal up the original idle valve and get a 3rd party Boach contorl valve and do some rewiring and plumbing.. Thats what was done to my celica because the original valve on the throttle housing has gone back, won't idle properly.

Now I don't have to worry about idle valve going bad. Just replace the valve if necessary ~$100 for it. Much cheaper option.
