1) check all fluids: engine oil colour, coolant/brake/power steering levels

2) check all lights: headlights, signal, brake, reverse

3) check all power windows, audio working

4) start engine and check oil pressue lamp shld go off few secs

5) listen for any loud knocking/rattling/whistling noise from the engine compartment/belts.

6) feel any strong vibrations/noise on the steering wheel when turn to full lock

7) check 4xtyre thread

8) Check smoke from exhaust step to 4-5rpm (no black/white/bluish smoke)

9) if mt, check if changing gears are smooth.

when 2nd gear, step acc suddenly to see any transmission slips

mileage ard 45k...how much mileage nid change timing belt?? issit exp changing timing belt?

ya..the veh v stock..

80k to change your timing belt.

Like one bro said, just buy the parts from stockist and go to a reliable/trusted workshop to get it all changed.

At 45k, you might want to send in for a full servicing and check all the fluids and brakes.

i was in the same position as you a few weeks back.

looking for a vehicle to run from place to place. got a few choices in mind, namely vios FL, latio sports, lancer cs3.

the vios was pretty cramp at the rear seats. spaciousness was one of my main needs with a reasonable boot space

viewed and test drove a few units as ubi carmart and ultimately decided on the latio sports in the end.

jus curious, have u collected the car already? :D

haven yet la..i m still looking ard..but getting this week.. :D

how was ur latio sport..my cousin gf have latio sport aso but she say the FC was like less than 10..i see boot space aso nt tt gd..

latio price abit higher..

vios is v exp..i think cs3 is gd throu.deprciate ard 4k +

haha...ya..i looking for modded 1 aso but got pple say mod 1 more prompt to accident before...

so depr ard 4 k plus is a good buy???

i change the radiator and air con compressor (both spolit)

how much was the damage???any idea wat are the syptoms of this spoiling??or going died?

noob 1st time rider...

i can't remember the exact cost since both was change in around jun-aug 2009. definitely more than $500 each...

radiator spolit is very easy to identified. one day i realised that my temperature meter was at the red zone. maybe... if u notice that the radiator have some white fluid spillage mark, it means it going to spolit. this is what happen to my radiator and i ignore it till the temperature meter was in the red zone.

for my case, air con blow out hot air is compressor spolit loh..

but i know that if the engine bay have abnormal noises when the engine is running, something is not right. when u are the car owner for 5 6 years, u will know which are the abnormal noise from the engine bay.

spacewise is still ok i guess, considering that im not a big fan of the sedan model, the rear jus looks weird.
