i know the Focus St produce 225BHP and Kuga at 200BHP using same engine,as for what reason they give 200BHP to kuga i can only thing of 1 and that is to make the Kuga more durable as it functions as a suv rather than a performance vehicle.dun forget its an all wheel drive for the masses not a porsche cayenne where maintenence cost is concern.

if you just travel the north south highway i agree.but if travel the coastal roads or even the suburban areas its quite tough on some normal saloons.i dont know where u go in malaysia but i run some offbeaten areas so i guess its not lame right?

why think about an SUV anyway, most of you lot wont even be taking it offroad, lame.

Self defense against Mini-ITX210002010 and his SillyCar GT4. He bang me I still win. [laugh]

I think it has to do with the configuration...

The previous CX-7 used the same 2.3L turbo engine as the Mazda 6 Sports; while the BHP was slightly lower as well, the CX-7 had more torque

The Ford Kuga 2.5 will be launched this 5th and 6th Nov! :D using the Focus ST 2.5 turbo engine to produce 200bhp,cant wait to see it here!saw a few in germany and it looks pretty nice to me!

The coupe version looks fantastic though it is rumoured to be only available after next yr?

The standard one is charismatic enough though the coupe above, I feel, looks even better.

Both Focus St and Kuga torque both same at 320nm at 2250rpm so i guess they detune it as Kuga usuage is a soft roader. The Kuga is using the same awd system as tiguan too,so with its drive train i think it should be a good SUV GT! :D

Nice crossover. I wonder what transmission option Regent Motors is bringing in.

Had a peek at the car in the metal yesterday, its definitely an auto, probably 5speed. Looked pretty good, a good alternative to the Tiguan

Went down with a friend to test drive the kuga today!guess what! it was a great car to drive if ur looking for a comfortable small hatch!quite shocking as the initial movement seems average but when u go round the bends and rough it with the potholes at pasir panjang roads it was utterly composed and refine!adequate power but ride quality was amazing!

my friend who drives a forester 2.5t said that even though his car is lower it doesnt have the stabality and conering feel of the kuga.only complaint was the car doesnt have the turbo oomphhhh, but what the heck the car is 1650kg heavy!

interior is very well built with good plastics on the dash and sides.some bottom parts are focus bin parts so just passable but overall it feels very well built together and thru the rough roads there was no rattling sound [flowerface] .i like that in a car!specs was good with 18" rims, auto headlight and rain sensor, auto dimmer, many many storage space.the boot was huge at 450L and they have twin tailgate system!all at 136k!hmmm a bit on par with the normal SUV's pricing(hopefully got better launch price!)

so both of our conclusion is that if your looking for a compact suv with a bit more power than normal but with the handling and ride of hot hatch not a bad idea to take a look at the Ford Kuga as an alternative!at least it wont be so common as a CRV or Tiguan.
