But then, the Americans are in South Korea to help protect against North Korea. If the North were to collapse and come under Southern rule, then the security threat would be eliminated and America would no longer have an excuse to stick around right?

most of their(NK) weps are cold war era.. in fact, i think their most 'advanced' warplanes are their Mig-29s.. which IIRC, is also cold war design..

Oh crap! I just remembered that Singapore is trying to engage N.Kimchi in business. In fact, there is a Singapore company running a fast food restaurant in Pyongyang.

No wonder MFA is so pissed off with Wikileaks. The flabby old chap is not going to renew our tenancy agreement liao. [sweatdrop]

If these leaks are not a major precursor to World War 3 then I don't know what will be. Some of them, I don't know whether to laugh :D or cry... [bigcry]

Sg has diplomatic relations with N. Korea btw. Their diplomatic representation here is not merely a consulate but a full embassy.

Read some of the more recent news.. seems like China quite pissed off with NK behaving like a little boy.. If war breaks out, chances are, China's not gonna come to the rescue of NK.. In fact, it seems like China prefer a unified Korea under Seoul.. Seoul is one of China's major trading partner, while Pyongyang has nothing to offer.. Money makes the world go round.. Besides, if NK comes under Seoul, US has no valid reason to stay on Korea peninsula anymore..
