Not true. If metal rubs against metal. Replace rotor and brake pads. The entire brake system not damaged. That Mechanic a liar. Go to another Mechanic.

 

Errr...I think that's what he meant lar. Not only pads, but rotors will up lorry too. Sorry was abit vague there, but all this was communicated to me in Mandarin and I can barely get by with the language [blush]

I also encounter squeaking sound when depressing brake pedal initially. Please don't tell me it is the front brake pads. I just changed them during my last service and i am not even 5000 km away from that servicing interval since.

 

since yours is newly changed, the sound is most likely due to the installation... just go back to your WS to rectify.
