no garmen is perfect. ours did well to create jobs by the new tourism & services required from the casinos etc, but they farked up big time in in implementing HDB SERS fast enough & addressing the supply crunch of resale flats in old estates. They tried to keep on supplying in the new town but its not working. Y they did not catch the micro-economic factors despite old the scholars & top brains there is beyond me.

anyway nobody is perfect, but some are better than others. I prefer this system than the mubarak or qaddafi regime.

I realised that a lot of ppl dun seem to be happy about our garment.

Is true.. from various forum, my colleagues and friends.. a lot.. really a lot..

But back to reality, how many will vote others?

I did ask some of my colleagues who keep complaining and saying they how bad and really curse n swear at them.. but when i asked about the coming election, will they vote for them... they kept quiet and change topic...

Well what does this spells? I am not sure and dun wana speculate.

Just like i hate my boss and no matter how i curse and swear at my boss, i still have to work for him...

Why?? Lan Lan.. cos i dun have the bargaining chips to move on.

So to sum up everything, the winner is clear this time round...

86 lightening, 1 hammer!

Can someone seriously explain to me?

A country of only 2.5m citizens, why we need 87 MPs?

We have already the world most expensive goverment and I guess the highest citizens to MPs ratio.

I thought they preached "cheaper faster & better" ... they doesn't seems to be practising unless ... MPs here are here to serve foreign trash?

To ensure everyone is represented.

Surely you would want our ministers to be well compensated?

Power can be given to any ordinary persons who are

just like anyone else with the same or better capabilities.

But when the awesome power of an ordinary person is removed,

that person will just become like any other common ordinary person.

Thus it is utmostly important not to give power to the wrong people.

More Good years!

im not so sure abt more good years for housing. it seems they messed it up last time, this time gona mess it up again. they shld spend more time handling the housing issue than bullcrap like YOG.

Property measures is to clamp down demand side, but wat abt supply side? to have a effective home policy, must handle both supply n demand, not just 1 side.

the lack of new space in the old estates is wat caused the massive hdb resale price climb, which in turn pushed up private prices, so because they didnt handle the supply side properly, the massive demand has outstripped supply, so the 16% tax is a desperate last resort to dampen demand. Now they must realise its also a supply issue, not just demand out of nowhere.

the new property measures are harsh, & wats worse is it was caused by their own ignorant & outdated mature hdb estate supply policies. admit to the problem to fix it, not surprise us with all kinds of harsh measures which just creates confusion & panic.

i tot our transparent garhmen has make it very clear why they have to pay top $ for top talent? it is to prevent corruption. This such a clear reasoning yet many ppl still want to ask why. They are where they are all by merit. or do u prefer a good dose of bad garhmen?

Too bad a few of them happen to come from same family but that's how meritocracy works! it doesn't means bcos ur family is from somebody high up u will be excluded from important post, they are there bcos they are capable.

Meritocracy, in Singapore we lead by example dats why at least 3 members of the same family taking charge of power and $ of this country.

Sound delusional, especially equating meritocracy with PAP

After reading the paper here is my take on the hot seat for SMC

SMC - Radin Mas - this one used to be Anson

Yuhua - Grace Fu, she a bit atas, women candidate, not as strong as Amy Khor (the Iron lady) at Hong Kah North.

Potong Pasir - there might be a 3 corner fight with Lina Chiam, SDA n PAP

Hougang - Low Thia Khiang still strong here.

The rest

SMC Bukit Panjang, Dr Teo Ho Pin, he very strong here, especially with auntie, nenek etc.

Hong Kah North - ever once opposition come to Hong Kah GRC, they were told by residents don't waste your time. Every election cycle she would have visit residents at least 4 times....

Other opinion please share

For GRC

I like the new GRC Nee Soon helm by K Shanmugam. Worker Party say they will contest. These will be interesting.

Tampines GRC - the hottest GRC other than Aljunied. Bookies have already take bet... Very interesting.

Aljunied GRC, part of Marine Parade, Kaki Bukit area now part of Aljunied GRC..... Tough and very close.

I hope the opposition contest AMK GRC n Tanjong Pagar GRC.....common go and send your suicide squad and embarass them again.

Moulmein Kallang GRC helm by Yaacob n Lui Tuck Yew - stepping into the unknown

The thing about elections is that Singaporeans are not clear whether they should be voting for the person who manages their estate, or should they be voting for the policies made by the political party.

For me, I am certainly happy with the way my estate is managed. While I may not agree with certain policies that have been made. at the end of the day, i might still vote for the incumbent because my estate is well managed.

You are right, why we need 87MP.

On one point, the garment are asking us to improve productivity on work and reduce manpower, but they themselve need more head count to do the work [knife][knife]
