Fresh Clutched March 4, 2011 Share March 4, 2011 maybe should have another poll. whose starter kaput with 2 starts a day, after how long whose starter kaput with more than 2 starts a day, after how long whose starter kaput with n starts a day, after how long I'm guessing all of you have the same brand of starter and perhaps all the mtbf is the same? i wonder if some starters were crap and basically failed first? anyway, TS was just asking what? so basically, engine running = consume fuel. if it's going to sit there and do nothing, and it makes you song, you can leave it running and continue burning fuel. ↡ Advertisement
Fresh Clutched March 4, 2011 Share March 4, 2011 TS if u are so particular of to leave the engine running or switch off the engine of the car, I would suggest that you don't buy a car take a cab instead and save all your troubles draining your brain juice. Cause after you mention this, you will sure to ask questions like "How often should I apply footbrakes or handbrake. And then follows by Auto Gearbox should I place it in "N" what stopping at Traffic Lights and "D" for economy drive and "S" for going up slope. And then for Manual Gearbox to use engine brake or footbrake to reduce speed. you should not expect everyone to be a car expert like you right...? Fresh Clutched March 4, 2011 Share March 4, 2011 Good exercise. Remember to stop pedaling at traffic junction. *One serious question* Do you get off the bicycle when stopping for a while? of course I do. cars have no eyes. do you have to get out of the car when you shut off the engine, waiting for a couple of minutes? *also serious* what cyclists do typically is dismount from the saddle, straddling the top tube, or if there is a kerb, one foot can rest on it whilst on the saddle.
