Now it is all about money, our icon is a casino, and our politicians are not paid enough even though 5 times overpaid than the american president, and the promise of something better morphed into the nightmare of unaffordable housing and escalating cost of staying alive. All this? happening even as the politician allow vultures in form of foreign talents feed on the carcass of our swiss standard of living. Not entirely true... my aunt stays in Potong Pasir for 20 odd years; For her, she is determined not to be bought over by Pappies with the LUP stuff.. In fact, many PP residents are die-hard CST fans.. No doubt PP is quite dated, but it's because CST has limited access to resources to do things for the residents (despite they paying taxes like we do). Nevertheless, gahmen also has to build MRT stations at PP eventually. Same for Hougang, the town flourishes well despite the resident vote for LTK.. It's like corporate world, if workers revoke, CEO also lan lan because workers move to company, not him. There's always a tipping point for things; that's what I believe our votes can do.
