Mona-vie 1st Gear April 25, 2011 Share April 25, 2011 208bhp is nice for 1.6L but the rpm for it to come in.. is abit too high. also, they didnt mention what rpm the torque comes in? nevertheless, kudos to the koreans for making more exciting engines.. rather than the plain old 1.6L NA. 6000RPM is very normal for boosted engines though. And its acutally considered good RPM because the torque only starts to dip after 5000RPM. If the peak BHP comes in at 5K or 5.5K RPM, this means your torque will drop at around 4K RPM already. The band is too narrow around. What you want is a flat torque curve that as wide as possible (come in as early as possible and last as high RPM as possible). ↡ Advertisement
