Shor 1st Gear May 11, 2011 Author Share May 11, 2011 Thank you sooooo much brother!!!! Sounds good!! Maybe you should take a look at the manual. My korean Trajet could take RON89 so the last trip to Krabi has been using the Thai's petrol without any issue. Getting a 3rd party insur is a must at Thai border. Preferably a GPS should come in handy for such a trip. For your trip up north, perhap you can try 1st stop Ipoh, then Krabi maybe for a night or 2 before you head up thru Prachuap (nice small fishing town) then Hua Hin, Bangkok, Phitsanulok, sukhothai before hitting Chaing Mai. A month time should be very relax and comfortable driving. Bon voyage. ↡ Advertisement
Shor 1st Gear May 11, 2011 Author Share May 11, 2011 As what I know, you can bring your car to Thailand for 1 month. The thing is the road crossing Visa is only 14 days. So if you wish to stay for 30 days, you need to go to their immigration office to extend. I did the previous time is around 1900 Baht. Any bro know whether we can bring sg car into thailand for a month's stay Thanks
Shor 1st Gear May 12, 2011 Author Share May 12, 2011 Thanks mate! I will, keeping the speed 100-140 km/hr. I would just like to suggest you to drive slow and follow all the rules and regulations of roads and always keep your license with you. Wishing you a very all the best for your trip. Josephsatu 1st Gear May 13, 2011 Share May 13, 2011 Thanks Bro Can we not do it at the point of entry instead of having to come back to the immigration again for another 14 days extension
Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear May 13, 2011 Share May 13, 2011 During NS days, 4 colleague (3 Drivers, 1 Vehicle Mechanic), drove there and back within 14 days with a rented a Mini. The Mechanic said oil leaked/seeped everywhere under tha car (they used old Federal Highway), before they returned the Mini to the car rental company. It was like full load/full speed for the Mini most of the way.

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear May 13, 2011 Share May 13, 2011 Thanks bro for your comment. But frankly, I don't get what you trying to tell. I believe the 4 of them overloaded the Mini, and raced it close to maximum speed where they could, all the way to and back home.

Dwoon 1st Gear May 13, 2011 Share May 13, 2011 Not point of entry but the closest embassy or consulate. What I understand is that many ang moh's in Thialand do what they term as a "VISA run" whereby they engage a driver to drive them all the way to Penang for the day, have the VISA renewed, then head back in. All within that day itself. Thanks Bro Can we not do it at the point of entry instead of having to come back to the immigration again for another 14 days extension
Shor 1st Gear May 13, 2011 Author Share May 13, 2011 yes, this called Visa run for the westerners. First time driving there so called the Thai embassy in Singapore. Flying there 30 days Visa but by road only 14 days. I was wondering whether can ask the border immigration to extend to 30 days? If not, either have to do a Visa run or to pay for extension in Thailand. Any input will be appreciate! Not point of entry but the closest embassy or consulate. Hanyoung Neutral Newbie May 13, 2011 Share May 13, 2011 Thanks mate! I will, keeping the speed 100-140 km/hr. Hi Shor, Imo, hardly got chance to hit even 120kmh lah! The Thai roads are not really similar to NSHW as they cut thru small towns and are mostly 2 lanes. Hence, is better to keep vigiliance and stay within 90kmh before you hit Chumphon/Prachuap on your southern approach. From BKK upwards, most parts of hwy is also 2 lanes but the speed could be higher. Nevertheless, you should be alert and stay within speed limit because you are in foreign land and do look out for pickup trucks, lorries and buses (they could be reckless at times). Enjoy yourselves and have a safe trip.
Shor 1st Gear May 13, 2011 Author Share May 13, 2011 Thanks bro Hanyoung. Will take your advices seriously. What I mean 120-140 km/hr is on the Msia part. But for the Thai road, I do agree, it's only a certain stretch I am able to do a 140/km.....Cheers bro!!! Hi Shor, Imo, hardly got chance to hit even 120kmh lah! She cross first or I continue on my way. I decided better ladies first (laugh) ↡ Advertisement
