Just drive to any of the LTA scrap yards. You should be able to get a list from them.

Car body isn't worth much, neither is the remaining COE value.

all cars will have a body value including coe cars....there is a market for it

dealers may want to renew the coe or export....hence a profit after purchasing and selling or exporting the car....

Don't go to the LTA scrapyards. You get a very low price there. Contact an exporter. PM me and I'll pass you a contact. My bro-in-law got $700 for a real lousy banger of a Toyota.

Borrow this thread for car scrapping question.

If a 20 year old car is due for scrapping, what is the scrapping and de-registration procedure? Is it a troublesome process?

If the car owner is busy and have no time to do it himself, could he call up an agent/dealer to settle the paper works for him? If such a service is available, how much would they charge for such a service?

dun forget to lelong off the good condition stuff in yr car b4 scrapping yr car.

i'm sure there r some bros here whose car coe ends later wud be looking for parts.

but seriously..i think 400 to 600 is a bit low... these cars can go on for a longer period than tat..

guess the system here is designed in tat way..sigh..too bad for us :(

It all depends on the model. Think the E100 Corolla Series can fetch quite high prices. The 2001 Sunny is not popular as an export model. Probably cos of the high fuel consumption.

In fact, in many parts of the world, the value of a car is determined by it's condition and desirability of the car model, not its age. Only in Singapore, cos of our "intelligent" COE scheme, is the value of a car pegged to it's age/COE paper value. In fact, our COE scheme creates safety problems. I know of a person who got a car at the time when the COE fell to $1 by some freak occurence. This person got into a bad accident and the car should have been scrapped on the grounds of unroadworthiness, but it was repaired so that the insurance company/owner would not lose so much money by scrapping. Downright crazy!!!
