I changed my GDA's stock steering to an STI one and still get to have the airbag...... In fact my ride on sale right now on sgcarmart..... U can see the STI steering in the pics..... I was too lazy to de-mod after I sold it to the broker..... ↡ Advertisement
Jphua Neutral Newbie November 23, 2011 Share November 23, 2011 Just to add to bro wreckwrx. Just treat your car as your best pal or brother/sister. Listen to it every time you touches it. It does talks back in its own language. Try to do weekly servicing on your own to the chassis area such as cleaning, check hose clip, check hoses, check battery connection, check engine oil, check steering oil level, check everything you can find in there. The service manual does provide a fairly good startup for beginners. If you have done all these yourselves instead of the WS, you will know what your subaru is telling you the next time you start the engine or rev it hard. yes, totally agree thanks for the kind advice. Bro if its the same make or compatible, the airbag sensors will be able to communicate well, if not got to do modification to the sensor which can be pretty tedious and dangerous, you don't want your air bags to float out when u jam e brake. Actually I have a volt meter that I use to monitor my batt daily...... I check my engine oil level every week..... do oil change every 6 mths...... I go through my engine bay every month to see signs of oil/ fluid stains...... I monitor my fluid levels and how "dirty" they look...... Unfortunately most of the stuff I listed are wear and tear issues...... but with proper maintenance regime, u can detect the signs early......... Actually the stock steering on my current LGT wagon has been changed to an STI one too..... But agree about the compatibility with the sensors...... that's why I also fall back to the same make..... instead of going for those hardcore Sparco or Momo Racing ones.... Wreckwrx 1st Gear November 23, 2011 Share November 23, 2011 any big damage if the replacement of bearing is delay further? Not recommended bro..... it's actually a safety issue..... due the stress on the whole lower arm's integrity..... plus the last thing u want is for your wheel to fly out at high speed...... Joking lah..... for the whole damm wheel to fly out, the noise from the worn bearing will already be so god damm loud and u literally get the sensation of the wheel falling off whenever u try to steer...... Premier_dettol Neutral Newbie November 23, 2011 Share November 23, 2011 Hi Maka, able to recommend a few pro subaru WS in pontian? Been there once, only know ah-tan is there. thankss!!! No la... I am in the learning stage... I got influence into getting a subaru by all my friends in indo, KL, penang and pontian.... They been telling me stories and stuff which made me did a lot of read up on its boxer's transmission technology. I got no prefered WS in sg cos majority of them are blood suckers. I have a WS in pontian which is owned by my friend. So far yet to visit him. Was planning a trip down to get my time belt change. If you need a good body work, you can try heading to pontian too. There are alot of pro subaru shops there. Even the ECU programmer resides there.

Maka Neutral Newbie November 24, 2011 Share November 24, 2011 (edited) Hi Maka, able to recommend a few pro subaru WS in pontian? Been there once, only know ah-tan is there. thankss!!! Bro, actually if you looking for normal wear and tear repair shop, any shop in pontain does the job. But if you into stage 1 or 2 or even remap, you will need a foreman aka specialist. There's only 1 in Pontain, 3 in Terbrau (can ask top speed for contacts), more than 10 in KL. Some tune for free as they just love fast cars or max the capabilities of the car especially subarus. Bro, not to bad mouth anyone. But i don't trust WS in JB as they love to charge you new parts price and ends up putting in recon or used parts. There arent much subarus in JB which explains my claim.. If you can, get your own parts and get anyone there to fix it there (not just ah tan). Maka Neutral Newbie November 24, 2011 Share November 24, 2011 Hi scoobi bros, Has anyone used 15" on impreza 1.6 na? Will it looks too cute or out of proportion? Haha Btw will coilover is most comfort for ts? Tein bc tomei tanabe have coilover for ts? Tks alot Cheers The stock is 15" for ts. Its not a matter of cute or proportion when regards to tires. Its the handling on the road. Be prepared if you going to change to bigger diameter tires, you better change those 2 pots away. For TS, its a drum rear as assisted brake. You may leave that alone and just go for at least a nice 6 pot for the front if you going to change anything abv 17 with width wider than 205. Many subarus uses coilover for awhile than change back to absorbers becos it can be too stiff and it gets really bumpy. Than again you will only know how you feel when you change it. Personally i prefers the stock absorbers with its spring changed every 10 months. ↡ Advertisement
