Anyone knows where to change the front bumper to face lift version? Or workshops that sell and install FL front bumper for Prius?

I enquired at BM and was told they do not do conversion.

You can try UMW in Malaysia, they bring in version with DRL BUT make sure you have wires ready for it. Else have to route wires which I doubt UMW will do it, they are AD for Toyota like BM.

Bro, what is the FC for Prius C?

To be fair, have to depends on your route and distance. On the whole, I'm averaging 26km/l after 4 mths ride.

My commute daily is around 70km, pump full since last Sunday, today only drop 2 bar. Total 10 bar.

Max ever travel on 34liter of petrol is around 900km.

I bought this popular EMF meter after reading some of these articles.

I checked a few cars

- 2006 Prius

- 2004 Merc E200

~2005 Merc Sxxx (can't remember exactly)

- 2010 Estima Hybrid

All cars have various spots that have high readings and low, and some become high only when certain pump/motor runs for a while.

But overall the 2004 Merc E200 was the worst, in having high readings at belly region of driver and front passenger.

The Prius had high reading at rear-right passenger.

The others fared about the same as the Prius.

The "Magnetic" positions were used in the Trifield 100XE. I considered readings above 20 milligauss to be high.

I did these tests a few years ago, so this is just the gist of it that I remember.

Good job on the test, on the whole, driving a Prius won't kill, else lots of Japanese would have been warded for Cancer already....

My mini review of a 2006 Prius.

Was bought new at $83,88 (include COE) from Borneo.

Maintained by Borneo only.

Still driving it nowadays, about 80,000 km now.

My actual fuel economy:

MFD says 5.3 litres per 100km. Usually fill up about 41 litres after driving about 800km. (specs say tank size is 45 litres).

Probably only 20% of the time on expressway.

Problems that I can recall:

- Aircon evaporator was replaced for about $1000 at around 5 years old. (refrigerant leak)

- Car went intermittently went into safe mode (no aircon), Borneo replaced a water-pump under recall, FOC. I think it was for the water cooled motor controller.

Car is a practical size.

Engine can seem quite loud and weak especially when accelerating up a expressway onramp.

Annoying to find your car cannot start in the morning if any of the interior lights was accidentally left on overnight. (this might be common to most cars). Have to charge the 12V lead battery.

No main battery problems so far that I know of.

I met a fellow owner at BM once who told me his 2006 Prius was having major problem with battery, and something related to the battery cooling fan too.

Not much major problem from what I can see, I do find the acceleration abit rough when one were to push it, but seriously, if one were to always push it, go for some other cars out there.

As for the batt for your version, what I understand is the batt terminal most probably corroded. I met a guy driving 2nd Gen Prius, he had a neighbour driving that too having batt problem, he went to Borneo and they wanted to change his Batt, cost a bomb so he decided to dismantle the batt section, found out it's corroded terminal, fixed that and batt is back to normal.

For batt cooling fan, I actually put a self made filter to prevent dust from going into the batt area.

Recommended to pump as low octance as possible. No difference on mileage at all, tested proven.

Yep, this car is really amazing, my previous Matrix, 60 liter, run 700km.

From what I heard, Prius will be more efficient than Prius C due to bigger engine, great for cruising.

No idea wor, from manual, it mention pumping higher octane fuel might cause engine problem some more.... Also the compression level for this engine is quite high. I need to go read up. [;)]

Expecially when petrol in sg is getting higher , i seriously think it makes sense. This would probably be euro V or VI since it is hybrid , tax wise it would be even lower. But it would probably cost us a few hundred k.

how many litre of engine oil needed for servicing?

150k km 0-40 or can 0-30?

Thanks

Depends on which Prius, I think 4 quarts such suffice. I'm going to use 0-20 once free service is over.
