Jonjees 1st Gear November 4, 2011 Share November 4, 2011 yup, the alignment guy asked me to get the camber kit, $130 inclusive of alignment.\ i got it, now on -0.9 camber both front wheels good stuff, you will find that your road holding will become better. but tire wear will be higher on the inside of your tires :) ↡ Advertisement

Jonjees 1st Gear November 4, 2011 Share November 4, 2011 i asked the mech about it, he told me that the difference will not be big... well of course it will depend on your car's limitation. if it has a high CG to begin with, the improvements will not be significant. Happily1986 5th Gear November 4, 2011 Share November 4, 2011 i asked the mech about it, he told me that the difference will not be big... have you upgraded or are you already on tires that are low aspect ratio?

Happily1986 5th Gear November 4, 2011 Share November 4, 2011 now on 215-45-17 tires... are you coilovers set to be very stiff? cos 45 to me is still okay okay in terms of low aspect ratio. i am just concerned that your tire sidewalls flex. then no point la. My ride has a 215/45/16 tires and I find the coils too stiff (not very comfortable going over bumps). I want it to be softer for a more comfortable ride. Is it advisable to do so? You can try adjusting the coilovers without jacking the car. about 5 to 6 clicks is a rough gauge to make it "softer" so that it becomes perceptible. This is my experience with BC coilovers. I would imagine it will be the same with yours.

The concern is that your tire sidewalls are subjected to alot of stress. I assume that they are tires with strong sidewalls. I think when it comes to tuning the stiffness of the suspension, tires + suspension + chassis flex all come together. All of the three must be relatively on par in terms of resistance, if not you will experience things like chassis flexing. Maybe your car's chassis is already very rigid to begin with, otherwise i would think you already installed struts.

I cant seem to find struts anymore for my car make. shd i avoid setting suspension too hard on 225/40/18 tyres?
Ken4555 1st Gear November 8, 2011 Share November 8, 2011 do i need to change the rubber bump stops when i change to coilovers. 7 yr old car liao. never changed suspension parts before. i cannot comment on the condition of your bolt joints... some ppl can do with stock, the agressive driver who prefers perfection will probably change everything... Carbine- Clutched November 22, 2011 Author Share November 22, 2011 i had juz did my alignment at FK during lunchtime after my height adjustment last week, it definitely made a diff and feels much straighter now. imo, FK is better then another alignment which i did in the vicinity. Jeffrey99 Neutral Newbie January 11, 2012 Share January 11, 2012 I think it's better that you do the height adjustment first ! ↡ Advertisement
