Temporary backfill has been there for the past 5 months and this is the way to and from a main tourist attraction: The casino and Sentosa!!! ...... it's the gateway to the resort island where visitors from overeseas pass thru. :o

I think it is good for us to feedback such concerns to LTA. By doing so, we are actually doing us and them a favour, it is a win win for all. Unless they ignore then [thumbsdown][bigcry]

Sometimes the road conditions are really bad, imagine your cup of coke / coffee spill over inside the car, just becos of some unexpected bumps here and there. Or it could be your little ones who is drinking milk on the move .....

With technologies [sunny] moving so fast nowadays, I believe they can do better than tat.

I have feedback to LTA about the stretch of woodlands road. Same issue about those bumpy handyplast roads.

The reply I got is nothing much can be done, I will have to wait till the whole MRT project is completed before some can be done. <_< <_<

This is depending on the job nature. Some bigger projects can go up to 2 years. So the temp backfill will be there for 2 years.. However, if you think that it is too bumpy and pose danger to other motorist especially motorcyclist, then you should report to the authorities and they might push forward the resurfacing works which we call milling and patching

Wonder email to LTA got use or not? [:/] My colleague feedback to LTA on one traffic lights timing too fast, and create jams and LTA replied that there is nothing they can do! <_<

Either there's something that they can't do or they don't want to do anything.

If you drive along many roads, you will find mostly red-lights all the way, unless you speed at 100km/h, then you get the "green wave".

Is this on purpose? Maybe to really, really slow down traffic ?

You can see a green light at the next traffic junction about 50m away, but you can't get there on green, bcoz right in front of you is a red light pedestrian crossing. By the time, the red light pedestrian goes green and you reach the traffic junction, it's red again.

Well done LTA !!!

Its quite a no-brainer for the authorities to know and make sure such dangerous bumpy road surfaces shouldnt be allowed to exist for longer than just a few days................ if they have to rely on public feedbacks on such obvious danger spots, i really dont know what to say............. [:)]

Looks like this is the standard reply from LTA? Nothing much can be done? [rolleyes]

There are many stand-alone pedestrian crossings red-lights totally not co-ordinated with the nearby traffic lights. If such ped crossing red lights are co-ordinated, the traffic flow will be so much smoother....

Anther 'trophy' ofr LTA: public money was spend building overhead pedestrian bridges, but we still see stand-alone pedestrians crossings (which stop the smooth flow of traffic) near such bridges (sometimes less than 50m away!!) .............

Maybe when the road happens to be a regular route used by some VVIPs, the bumps will disappeared overnite........... everything "siu-siu".......... tip-top :D

Guys, instead of complaining here, why not let lta know?

I spoonfeed you all

http://talk2lta.lta.gov.sg/AskLTAContentCo....CreateFeedback

I believe quite a few MCFers are regular feedbacks providers to LTA........... it doesnt mean that we cant discuss the same issues here after sending the feedbacks to LTA........... :D

anyone who's adverse to forum discussions/complaints: stay away from forums or such threads

Temporary road backfilling should pose no danger to road users unless the workmanship is really poor. The road will be bumpy but not too bumpy to cause danger. The resurfacing of road is not economically feasible to do for small length of roads because of the mobilisation cost involved. That is why temporary road backfill will be resurface few months later for short projects and will be done on completion of big projects (1-2 years). The reason of not resurfacing is also due to the possibility of repair works need to be done is there is any defective workmanship. If they were to resurface immediately, cost will be very high.

Those back-fillings are usually OK until it rains. <_<

Not only those temp back-filling are not resurfaced, the are so much road debris around that makes me wonder whether I am in some third world country.

No doubt Malaysia roads have many potholes, but they do not have that much road debris. Everyday when I go to work I am sure to go over at least 3 wooden planks.
