There is a large segment of the market out there that do not like the crude power delivery of say the WRX or Evo. If you do a quick throw back to the 90s. All the other Japanese manufacturers TCed their flagship sports car, 300GT, 300ZX Fairlady, RX7 Efini, Supra etc. Honda refused to TCed their cars and as a result, VTEC was borned.
