Butcher_hoe Neutral Newbie March 21, 2012 Share March 21, 2012 Increasingly over media we have seen how people across various nationalities have/are consuming insects as snacks and even as a staple diet. How many of you ladies and gentlemen here would be open to experiencing or even consider a conversion to such a source of food for a staple diet? ↡ Advertisement

Butcher_hoe Neutral Newbie March 21, 2012 Author Share March 21, 2012 I've been tempted once to stir fry some left over bugs I had from a fishing trip. Basically, I bought some bugs (Meal worm alike, but very much fatter compared to a meal worm) to try out freshwater fishing and there were plenty of left over, I saw it as a waste and wanted to bring it home to stir fry with salt pepper for simple seasoning. Then I remembered watching a documentary that for cooking of insects, the have to be processed properly, like washing of insects and clearing whatever impurities (e.g. poop, dirt), that I wasn't too sure of how to do it so gave up the idea and all the worms went into the water. Donut Supercharged March 21, 2012 Share March 21, 2012 somebody shld start a F&B outlet in SG, selling insects as cooked food... i'm sure it will draw the crowds. even if the local SG don't like to eat, there are enough FTs to be the customers.
