These are kit cars. The most common are conversions from Pontiac Fieros to either Lambos or Ferraris cause it's mid-engined...much like a MR2.

 

I haven't heard of Ferrari sueing anyone who built a kit car similar to their models.

as long as you do anything that brings disrepute to the brand or "devalues" the brand perception, i don't see why they won't sue the pants off you. i read that a man elongated his ferrari and inserted a midsection. essentially he tried to create a ferrari limo. bam! got sued.
