  1. @kobayashiGT I am actually more excited by this version, than the China Civic with a different badge. Hopefully it will be a big success in the US and eventually wear a Honda badge for the rest of the world. Acura announced that the upcoming Integra will have a “sleek five-door design” in a new teaser. The company said it will reveal more details closer to its debut in 2022. Along with the description of the car, it released an image of the sporty compact bathed in heavy shadows along with a short video of an engine revving. It also showed us an image of the 1986 Integra RS 5-Door, which helped launch the popular model line. (And this is the Integra in my memory, something unlike any others during that era) Acura was previously coy about revealing any details on the shape of the new Integra, giving media a firm “no comment” whenever asked. When it announced the model’s return in August, the automaker referred to it as a “compact premium car” and revealed a liftback body style via a drone demonstration. “The Integra is back,” vice president and Acura Brand Officer Jon Ikeda said in a statement in August. “I’m thrilled to say Integra is returning to the Acura lineup with the same fun-to-drive spirit and DNA of the original, fulfilling our commitment to Precision Crafted Performance in every way – design, performance, and the overall driving experience.”
  2. Acura’s New Sport Sedan Should Make the NSX Proud source: https://gearpatrol.com/2020/04/13/acura-new-tlx-type-s-sport-sedan-2021/ Like much of the automotive world these days, Acura is doing well on the strength of its SUVs. The MDX and RDX are reliable, stylish, luxurious, and even fun to drive, depending on whether you snag one with the torque vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive. The company’s cars, however…well, they could use a shot in arm. The NSX is spectacular, but nobody seems interested in spending six figures on a high-tech Japanese hybrid sports car right now. The ILX isn’t just a Civic-based pseudo-luxury compact — it’s a pseudo-luxury compact based on the last-generation Civic that debuted nine years ago. The RLX has gone all but unnoticed for years. And the TLX has been hanging around since 2014, with little innovation to show except a handmade limited edition. Things are apparently about to look a lot brighter for the car side of Honda’s luxury brand, though. According to Car and Driver, not only is a new TLX sedan around the bend, but it’ll arrive along with a true sport sedan version packing a potent twin-turbo V6. The next-gen TLX will boast its own platform, according to C/D, though the base powertrain of a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four and a 10-speed automatic transmission will be the same one found in the RDX and top-shelf Honda Accords. Front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive will be up for grabs, also like the RDX. That entry-level car, reportedly, was expected to go on sale this summer at a base price of around $35,000, though the coronavirus pandemic and economic uncertainty it brought seem likely to have pushed that back. More exciting — and hopefully not delayed — is the TLX Type S model that C/D reports will arrive in 2021, in an effort to close some of the distance between Honda’s fancy-but-not-very-fast four-door sedans and the wild NSX. C/D says the twin-turbo V6 — likely a new 3.0-liter unit — will provide a big boost in power over the current top TLX, which uses a naturally-aspirated V6 to make 290 horses. Assuming the Type S really wants to cover the spread between the regular TLX and the NSX, we’re guessing it’ll pack around 400 horsepower at the bare minimum. As for what that new TLX will look like, odds are very good it’ll resemble the Type S Concept car that Acura debuted at Pebble Beach last year (seen above) — or at least, a mildly toned-down version of that concept.
  3. The Type S concept that Acura is showing off at Monterey Car Week is basically the blueprint for the next-generation TLX sedan in its top-performance trim — minus some of the design flourishes that make it a concept. "The Type S concept sets the stage for re-introducing Type S performance variants to the Acura lineup after a decade hiatus, and will heavily influence the character of the upcoming, second-generation TLX Type S," the company said in a statement. Acura, which is harking back to its performance roots with edgier looks and go-fast parts, released images of the concept prior to its presentation at Monterey Car Week on Thursday. The next-generation TLX is likely to be shown in the coming months for sale as a 2021 model. The production car will have door handles — unlike the concept — along with larger side mirrors and an interior similar to the redesigned RDX crossover, which last year became the brand's first mainstream model under the new design direction. Acura's remake began four years ago with the second-generation NSX supercar. Acura designers say the concept to be shown in Monterey already has many of the engineering details worked out, suggesting the production car won't be far off in terms of overall design. The concept will also heavily influence a second vehicle with the reborn Type S trim, although Acura hasn't said which one. "The return of Type S is instrumental in our mission to return Acura to its performance roots," said Jon Ikeda, Acura brand officer. More recently, Acura brought back A Spec appearance trims, along with a new pentagon grille for all models. It also confirmed a new turbocharged six-cylinder engine is in the works for Type S models, excluding the low-volume NSX, which has a unique powertrain. "I don't have the direct numbers to give you about the exact performance," Ikeda said at an event last week. "I guarantee you that just as exciting as these [Type S] vehicles were in the past, we are definitely going to have the performance upgrade, whether its brakes or handling or performance of the engine." The luxury brand has said it will get down to four core vehicles: two sedans and two crossovers. The RLX full-size sedan is set to be discontinued given its poor sales. Moreover, Acura is refocusing on the NSX as its halo vehicle rather than a big sedan. The Type S trims are seen as the bridge to link the NSX to the brand's more attainable models. The "brand pyramid" consists of the NSX at the top, followed by Type S performance trims, A Spec appearance trims and regular models. Up next for a full redesign after the TLX are the MDX three-row crossover and ILX compact sedan. That will complete Ikeda's promise, in the short term, to bring Acura back to its roots as a brand that is deeply involved in racing and reflects that racing heritage in its vehicles. "What we did promise our dealers and our enthusiast friends is that as we go back [to our roots] you're going to see a transformation happening to their brand through our products and designs, and not only through performance," Ikeda said. He promised that "big changes" in product are coming "very quickly."

    Acura RDX

2019 ACURA RDX PROTOTYPE FIRST LOOK: LARGER, STIFFER, MORE POWERFUL http://www.motortrend.com/cars/acura/rdx/2019/2019-acura-rdx-prototype-first-look-review/ RDX A-Spec variant to be available at launch this summer Acura might be calling its unveil of the third-generation RDX crossover a prototype, but the five-passenger luxury SUV making its global debut at North American International Auto Show is production-ready. It goes on sale this summer, and there also will be an A-Spec variant available at launch—the first sporty addition for an Acura SUV. In the future, all core Acura vehicles will get the A-spec treatment. Acura is calling it an all-new, exclusive platform—but the RDX started with the Honda CR-V architecture and modified the chassis and upgraded the powertrain. Obviously, the sheetmetal is much different, too. The only engine under the hood at launch is the new 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine that is shared with the Honda Civic Type R and Accord. The direct-injection engine—which generates 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque in the Type R and 252 hp and 273 lb-ft in the Accord—has 40 percent more low-end grunt than that of the outgoing RDX and is mapped to deliver more low-end thrust than the revvy Type R. We also expect a hybrid variant in the future. The RDX’s 10-speed automatic transmission is shared with the Odyssey and Accord, but this is its first all-wheel-drive application. The 2019 RDX is the same height as the outgoing RDX but is longer and wider with a wheelbase lengthened by 2.5 inches and a 1.2-inch wider track, said engineer Steve Hansen. It also has a shorter overhang and long wheel-to-dash for more dramatic proportions, fronted by the signature diamond pentagon grille and next-gen LED headlights. In back is a “dragon tail” with LED lamps. Engineers made the body and chassis stiffer and gave the 2019 model a multilink rear suspension with a new adaptive damper system. Drive modes are similar to the NSX’s, which defaults to Sport but can be switched to Comfort, Snow, or Sport Plus. It has variable gear steering. The 2019 model gets the second generation of Acura’s torque vectoring Super-Handling All Wheel Drive or SH-AWD. About 60 percent of current buyers opt for AWD. It was at the 2016 NAIAS that Acura showed the Precision concept that would shape the design direction for the brand going forward. Some cues made it into the NSX, but the RDX is the first Acura to fully implement the look the Precision telegraphed, says Acura General Manager Jon Ikeda. The interior takes cues from the Precision’s cockpit. There are real metals—not faux-look plastics—including brushed aluminum as well as open-pore olive ash wood. The floating console creates space underneath, and the adjustable armrest is nice and necessary around the fixed location of the infotainment interface. The 16-way adjustable sport front seats are heated and cooled, covered in Nappa leather, and offer lumbar support. Four of the 16 speakers in the updated sound system are located in the roof instead of the door, for better sound and clarity. Also standard are a sport steering wheel and ultra-wide panoramic roof. The infotainment system features a touchpad interface and a 10.2-inch screen. The new interface will be in future Acuras. The RDX also has new natural language speech recognition. There is 4G LTE Wi-Fi and over-the-air updates for telematics and infotainment. The RDX made its debut for the 2007 model year and helped create the compact luxury crossover as we know it. With a consistent string of sales increases, the RDX has been the No. 1 or No. 2 seller in the segment for the past five years. This is the first RDX to be developed in the U.S., tapping the Ohio engineering team and California design studio. The crossover will continue to be built in Ohio at the East Liberty plant, and the engine is assembled in the Anna, Ohio, facility that also makes the twin-turbo engine for the NSX.
  5. Acura formally debuted its SUV-X design concept at the Shanghai Motor Show - a global concept vehicle for a small SUV that is targeted mainly for the Chinese market. This is the first in Acura's 27-year long history, it has globally introduced a new concept outside of North America. Emotional and sharp styling and driving performance, together with the environmental performance of a small vehicle and excellent utility of an SUV are all fused together at a high level in this vehicle. Acura is planning to begin local production and sales in China of a mass-production model based on this concept vehicle for its market in about the next three years. Sadly no technical details were unveiled. "We are planning to produce the mass-production model of the Acura Concept SUV-X locally in China. With the hope that our Chinese customers will more closely feel the values offered from Acura, we will begin preparing for the start of the local production. In China, where dynamic growth continues, both Acura and Honda will keep up our efforts to enhance products and technologies that will offer new joys of mobility to our customers," said Takanobu Ito, President & CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. On top of the SUV-X design concept, the Chinese market Acura RLX was also announced. The RLX is a luxury flagship sedan which will go on sale in China in June 2013. Excellent manoeuvrability and comfort are pursued through the adoption of a number of advanced technologies including a newly developed 3.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC V6 engine and Precision All-Wheel Steer - the world's first technology to achieve both outstanding turning performance and vehicle stability. The well received next generation NSX concept was also on display which made its debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in January.
  6. Acura, the luxury division under the Japanese automaker Honda, has released an image of a new concept vehicle prior to the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. From the image released, the concept vehicle is seemingly a crossover. Acura had mentioned that the concept will debut for the first time in the world at the automotive exhibition that will take place later this month in Shanghai, China. Unfortunately, apart from that and the image, the automaker has yet to reveal any other details, such as engine specifications and interior features. The concept is likely to create a new market segment, considering Acura has recently launched the 2013 all new RDX and the 2014 MDX. Judging from the tyre sizes in proportion to the car's body in the image, it seems that this new concept vehicle from Acura will be a compact crossover. If so, it'll potentially compete against the BMW X1, the Audi Q3, the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, and the Lincoln MKC, the latter two of which are going into production soon. It seems that Acura won't be the only one previewing a new concept vehicle as Honda will also do the same thing. The model that Honda will likely preview is a redesign of the Honda Odyssey. Yes, although the North American version (redesigned) of the model had just recently been revealed in the 2013 New York Auto Show, Honda has actually been selling the global version since 2008. Therefore, it seems wise for the model to see a redesign of its global version soon.
  7. The usage of aluminium on cars has been rather rife lately. Benefits of using the lightweight material are downright obvious. It does not only reduce the vehicle's weight which offers better fuel economy, but it also improves the vehicle's dynamics. Engineers at Acura (Honda's luxury vehicle division) have come up with a new way of joining steel and aluminium. This new method is said to be a much simpler process compared to traditional methods. The essential part of this new method is the "3D Lock Seam" structure. The steel and aluminium parts are layered and hemmed together twice and this prevents them from detaching. The new method also uses a special adhesive that completely fills any gaps which will prevent from any corrosion. Acura has started using this new method on its 2014 RLX model (pictured above) which features aluminium panels welded to steel parts. This has helped to reduce around 17 percent of weight per door, compared to traditional welding methods. Weight reduction on the outer part of the vehicle brings the point of gravity closer towards the centre of the vehicle which improves stability. The new method also reduces the need for spot welding processes. This new joining process will eventually be used onto other models, including those in Honda's line-up. Image credit: Honda/Acura
  8. Honda's premium arm - Acura presented its 2014 Acura MDX Prototype at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), offering a first glimpse of the styling direction for the third SUV which seats seven passengers to be launched by mid-2013 in either an all-wheel or front-wheel drive layouts. "Our goal is to advance on MDX's already great dynamic performance while improving fuel economy and luxury comfort. Building on the great momentum we established in 2012 with the launch this year of our flagship RLX, followed later this year by a terrific new luxury SUV in MDX we are very excited about the direction of the Acura brand. And we are truly looking forward to a great 2013," said Mike Accavitti, vice president of national marketing operations. Let's be honest its looks like a typical Honda with the corporate face of an Acura - so no surprises on the styling front though the eye-blinding Acura Jewel Eye LED lights adds a nice touch. The 2014 MDX Prototype is 38mm lower than the preceding model outgoing model but features a longer wheelbase for an enhanced ride quality, an increase in legroom in the second row - which in turn improves accessibility to the third row. In a bid to pacify the strong demand for the MDX, Acura will offer a front-wheel driven variant for 'warm weather markets' (UAE) on top of an all-wheel drive. Powering the MDX is an all new, 3.5-litre V6 engine and will be produced in Lincoln, Alabama. Using domestic and globally sourced parts, the MDX is built exclusively in North America.
  9. This Acura NSX is a updated version for Detroit Auto Show , this updated version will be more ''similiar'' to the production version. The production version is set to get a direct-injected, mid-mounted V6 engine working together with Honda's Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system, a new dual clutch transmission featuring a built-in high-efficiency motor, and two electric motors driving the front wheels independently. This car will cost more then the GTR. Similiar Models : Lexus LFA
  10. Honda CEO announce that Acura will expand to some of the world. 11. The 2014 Acura RLX concept (aka Honda Legend) made its world premiere recently at the 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show. Although the styling of the flagship model might not catch your attention, its multi-faced LED headlamps are not hard to go unnoticed. The new signature 'Jewel Eye' headlamps use a total of ten separate high-intensity LED lamp stacked in two rows with ultra-reflective optical lenses and high-gloss trim to provide a powerful illumination. There are a total of 20 beams of light emitting from the headlamps. They give the RLX a distinctive and bright-eyed look in both day and night. The RLX Concept is powered by an all-new 3.5-litre V6 direct-injected VTEC engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT). The motor generates more than 370bhp and promises to deliver V8 acceleration with four cylinder fuel economy. The concept also features the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD

For example, one house hardware entrepreneur drives a car that would only fetch about $1,500 (S$1,864), while a software mogul could sell his car for $4.4 (S$5.47) million. While some vehicles are considered dream rides others made the list due to the owners. Though the source of this article is new, it is unsure if these billionaires have changed their rides. Carlos Slim Helu is the world's richest man, according to Forbes Bill Gates' Porsche 959 Coupe, one of only 230 in the world Alice Walton, heiress of the Wal-Mart, second-richest woman in the world. 13. Honda has important plans for China over the next few years, as it aims to widen its range offered. It will introduce more than 10 brand new or redesigned models from 2013 to 2015 besides increasing local production capacity. Aside from the CR-Z, Insight and Fit hybrids that will be launched in China this year, the company will also debut two new concepts. With no official details of the concepts, a pair of sketches that outline the shape of a minivan and a sedan model have been released. From the sketches it looks like a China specific Odyssey and Accord, possibly featuring a hybrid powertrain Honda will also bring its luxury arm, Acura with the ILX, RDX, and the all-new NSX Concept. The ILX and RDX will be introduced to the Chinese market later this year. Honda plans to further strengthen Acura's product lineup in China with the 2013 RLX flagship sedan similar to the model on display at the New York Auto Show. Starting from next year, Acura will introduce models with new, smaller displacement powertrains, due to large demand in China. Honda is also considering establishing a new design studio in China and added that in July, the second plant of Dongfeng Honda will begin productions. The brand's other partner, Guangqi, is proceeding with a plan to build its third line and is aiming to begin production on this new line in 2014.

  15. His name is almost as popular as Bill Gates’ and his bank account is also juggling billions of dollars (not as many though), so naturally everyone wants to know what type of car Mark Zuckerberg drives. While we were expecting something closer to a Ferrari, a Porsche, or a Veyron, it appears the Facebook CEO went for an Infiniti. Moreover, the youngest billionaire in the world has recently been spotted being toted around in his girlfriend’s Acura TSX, which is a car that competes against vehicles like the Lexus IS, Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series. The car is an entry-level luxury vehicle worth about $30,000. The sports sedan is not short on luxury features such as leather interior, power moonroof, automatic climate control, a seven-speaker sound system, Satellite Radio, Bluetooth and HandsFreeLink. Could it be the car has any Facebook features for Zuckerberg to enjoy? The 26-year-old businessman has managed to gather a fortune of no less than $6.9 billion (according to the recent Top 50 Forbes, where he also came ahead of Apple CEO’s Steve Jobs). However, he is still far behind Microsoft founder’s Bill Gates, whose fortune is reportedly of up to $54 billion. Anyway, just so that we spice up the news a bit, it seems that when spotted in Palo Alto with his girlfriend, Zuckerberg was wearing the exact same shirt that he has sported a day before with a friend. Could driving $30k cars and not spending money on clothes be the secret to becoming a billionaire? We guess not. But what we do know is that on his personal Facebook profile page, he lists his personal interests as “openness, making things that help people connect and share what’s important to them, revolutions, information flow, and minimalism.” This should get you start thinking like a rich man... http://www.autoevolution.com/news/facebook...-tsx-25276.html
