I got my set from ebay apple** on 29th dec, this morning i realised the power indicator has very faint red, so checked the sd card and its not recording since 3th dec, running on upc. [bigcry]

Re format the card still same problem as u, not recording even with faint light on...guess the unit kaput already.

Now i starting to doubt if the ebay source is reliable anot.

Those having same problem managed to get it resolved? Or should I send back for RMA?

Same problem here, sent back for replacement.

Those retailers that post "too good to believe" prices are often out-of stock when you approach them :( Not sure is it really out of stock @ that prices or simply a marketing tactic to draw customers and in the end recommend something else (usually higher price)?

Anyway, if you are happen to be somewhere there, probably worth a try.

Have you personally went down to the shop to purchase before? This shop is a no frills shop and I've bought several of my SD cards from them before at the advertised price. They are at every single IT fair also. Some more their cards are supported by local distributor warranty. For the price they are selling compared to elsewhere, it's definitely worth the trouble to make a trip there. Another competitively priced shop for SD cards is Best Buy.

Ummm... how can you get the set on 29 Dec but recording stopped at 3 Dec? [:p]

Anyway from what I understand, blinking LEDs, be it green or red, denotes no GPS signal while solid green or red is GPS signal detected. Red means with voice recording while green is mute. Faint red is when you power off the unit and it's writing its last file to the SD card before you can remove the card safely.

Try plugging your unit directly to the cigareee lighter socket and see whether it turns on. Sometimes it may be the UPC that's causing the problem.

The price is not too good to believe

Sandisk 32gb class10 is around that price

They have higher end class10 which will cost higher

One year back, i bought my 32gb class10 at 28.90 only, not sandisk tho

Now one year has passed, i wont be surprise sandisk drop their price to compete with other brands

Sorry my bad on the date, its 3 jan [:p]

Mine is setup to run continously for parking, means it does not shut down. Just went over to workshop to have a check, nothing wrong with the upc and installation. Guess i have to send back to Korea for RMA.. [bigcry]

Guys, sorry to hear about the break down of the unit. I'm one of the few who brought under PI. Mine has been using about 3 months. So far so good for my unit. It has been running 24/7 for the past 3 months.

No one is to be blamed, it is our own decision & I can only blame on my luck [;)]

I just ordered the ITB-100HD SP from ohmyblackbox.

Wonder if its gonna be here fast. Anyone what is the biggest memory card it can support? 64gb?

It doesnt come with any power magic or UPS. So i ordered the Power Magic Pro to couple with it.

For those who are having issue of the unit not recording, not sure how relevant my experience is, but here goes. Both of my units occasionally stop recording when I left it overnight in parking mode. Apparently, after few hours in parking mode, they just stopped recording in different timing. Tried many different settings, thought it's due to overheat problem but in the end, I reckon the problem was caused by few combination of things:

1. I park mostly in open space carpark. Due to that, I have plenty of events when the parking mode is set to shock+motion, thanks to the "motion" part. Tried many different setting of the motion and shock, from sensitive, normal, to insensitive. For me, the best combination is to turn off the motion detector, and set the shock to insensitive. The normal shock detection is still too sensitive for my liking. Even passing by loud car (e.g. van, diesel engine cars, lorry, etc) could trigger the shock detector.

2. In shock only mode, insensitive, the cam is much more stable; i.e. rarely the unit reboots itself after I on engine (could hear the booting up tone; occasionally it's the shutting down tone then follow by starting up tone after ~30 secs)

3. There were to times the unit LED was dim, and I thought my unit went dead like some of you guys here experience. I unplugged, no tone. Plug back the power, no tone either. After I on engine, the unit started, could hear the starting up tone and the red power LED was bright again. So I suspect it's the UPC problem. I had set it to 12V initially (switch 1 down, switch 2 up).

4. After that experience, I brought my digital multimeter with me. Apparently, the UPC is not as accurate as what I thought. I.e., when you set to 12V, it actually cut off at around 12.3v or so.

5. Now my UPC is on 11.8V setting (both sw 1 and 2 up). So far, the unit has not stopped recording for the past 2-3 days, including overnights parking mode.

6. My conclusion: when you set the parking mode to shock+motion, the unit records a lot of events. Especially if you set the motion to sensitive and shock to normal/sensitive. Due to that, the unit keeps recording and consuming lots of power. Eventually, it drains the battery then the UPC cut off the power.

Think like someone has suggested before, if you have problem with your unit, you may want to try to bypass the UPC first. It could be main problem.

PS: contrary to what some people said, in shock only mode, the unit records the event up to 2 seconds before the shock is detected; i.e. not after the shock is detected. E.g. when someone knock or kick your car at 01:12:32 AM, you will have an event file starting at 01:12:30 AM, 2 seconds before the event.

There are few shops in level 4, 5, and 6 in SLS that sells 32GB Sandisk Ultra Micro SDHC (class 10) with SDHC adapter for less than 40 bucks. I just bought one two weeks ago, for 37 bucks only, from CyberMind Computer House, #04-49 SLS. I remember there was nearby shop at 4th floor as well manned by Indians sold it for 36.30 bucks, but was too lazy to walk back. Also, the shop keeper at cybermind was quite chio at that time, so dun mind spending 70 cents more to chat with her [:p]

Why Micro SDHC, you ask? Well, normal SDHC is not that much cheaper, and you won't be able to insert it into mobile devices or tablet that accept Micro SDHC. Since the Micro SDHC comes with the adapter, it's more versatile and flexible, in my opinion. As simple as that... Your preference may vary...
