Bro Quantum, what does TC mean? Turning corners?

I tested drive the Drive E & it is smooth & great acceleration.

Got my car below 210..close to the HSE range..

They were saying that they have cleared most of the R models but no intention in doing so for the E models <_<

Possibly the E models have just arrived...

After the last week's COE, they have raised the list price upwards 10-15k... [hur]

Also, 1 of the reason for not taking the FL2 is that they do not have red... [dead]

Congrats, bro. It is always exciting to receive a new car. :)

By the way, is the new XC90 here?

My bros, my FL2 is 6 years old (40,000 km) and since the warranty expired, I have spent about $20K (excluding regular maintenance) to keep the car in good running condition. The car drives well if only it is kept that way. But as I found out, repairs done by Wearnes is marked up by at least 80% - 100% (depending on the type of parts) more than what it cost in UK and Australia and maybe Europe too. So, beware of the upkeep cost after warranty period. But then again, other conti 4 wheel drive/SUV dealers may be the same. Any experience so far from you bros?

My previous Audi is repaired by outside workshop... Premium Auto will mark up a lot from what I remember.

Thanks bros..it is, after a month of "BMW"...hahaha [laugh]

According to my SE, the XC90 will only arrive next year, late 1Q by the earliest but might delay to 2Q due to LTA's current lateness in inspection. He sold mostly to his current base of customers, so he is more concern of the arrival than anyone <_<

I believe (& understand) that all the branded cars would be a lot more expensive servicing back with their AD. Have heard from friends complaining about BMW, Mercs, Land Rover, Jaguar, Audi, etc...So far the least complaints on expensive servicing/spare parts is actually by Lexus users.

AR is quite reasonable. You go to their webby can see. :D

Errr...AR? Really? Not much models from them already <_<

And we were looking a SUV for us..(mostly for my wife lah)

But you are right..its indeed quite ok there..

The good thing for FL2 on servicing is that their cycle is longer & there is a choice of on-road or off-road type of servicing.

Thats according to what the Land Rover SE told me...

TC means Turbo Charge,

indeed drive-E acceleration is the most impressive among driven SUVs [thumbsup] ,

don't know whether XC60R is the same, SE told me the major contribution from 8 speeds transmission instead of engine,

unfortunately it's only FWD, and rear seat leg room very small,

Agree with Bro Quantum.

Yes, rear seat leg room for XC60 is quite tight.

AD is Authorised Dealer. AR is?

Bros,

I did quite a lot of "homework" before going to Volvo.. :D

My heart is with FL2 but i have to negotiate with my wife on her requests as well..

So we came out with a chart and below is something that I did together with my wife...

FL2 HSE XC60 E Remark 1 Engine 2l Turbo 2l Turo Same power 2 Transmission 6 speed 8 speed Smoother transition for XC60 3 Drive AWD FWD Best off-road for FL2 4 Size 4500x2195 x1740 4627x2120 x1713 XC60 longer, FL2 slightly taller 5 Wheel base 2,660 2,774 XC60 has bigger interior but becos bigger seats, seems more diff to get in. FL2 has taller back seats, easier to go in 6 Weight 1.7+ ton 1.7+ ton Both fairly heavy 7 Pickup 8.8s 7.2s XC60 is faster on the go 8 FC 10.4km/l 14.9km/l FWD & 8 speed makes XC60 better FC 9 Airbags 7 6 Funny that XC is 1 less 10 Wheels 18" 18" 11 Side Mirror Signal NA Yes 12 Sound System Meridian 8-speaker Sweet sound from FL2 13 Rear aircon vent No Yes Faster to get cool 14 Sunroof Yes No 15 Tailgate Remote Remote + Electric Easier on-off loading 16 Others-safety NA City Safety

I did not include all the rest for comparison as they are mostly the same.

Sadly, due to the amount of greens [:(] i have to go for a 1 bid XC60 instead of the FL2...

PS: AR= Alfa Romeo

Bro signer,

Very detailed indeed...reason is that I like the FL2 but my wife likes the XC60..

With the chart, I would need to give in.. ^_^

Bro, you would need to check with the team here on FL2 outside source servicing.. [smash]

AR means Alfa Romeo as according to the previous posting..

Bro Jason,

Thanks for the explanation.

How is your XC60? Zoom zoom?

Cheers..no problem..

Great ride height, great pick up, comfortable ride, cool meters...thats the good side [cool]

A little over-steer, only slight body roll, sound system not as great as the FL2..thats the disadvantage

Will monitor on the FC in the longer run...

Bro signer4, should also tell us more on how you feel on your ride... [laugh]

Bro Jason,

Still getting used to the FL2. And since it is less than a month old, I also tend to be a bit more cautious when driving it.

I thoroughly enjoy driving the FL2 when on the expressway, very smooth.

Due to the body roll, I tend to slow down at corners & U-turns. It is different as compared to my driving the VW Tiguan.

I notice that the initial acceleration tend to be a bit slow and the change of lower gear transition is not as smooth. But once it pick up, it is a great steady drive. Reminds me of my dad's old mercedes where I used to tease that pick-up is slow but damn good drive once you gain speed.

I like the height but I think a couple of my short colleagues are struggling to come onboard. My family loves the leg space especially at the back. Sound system is good, everything is so smooth with the touch of a finger on the steering wheel. Great Command drive.

As my work place has a bit of terrain and need to climb a bit when I go to work, the FL2 does a great job. My favourite is when I leave work & have to do downhill, the car slows down automatically & I don't need to exert too much brakes.

Internally very comfortable, only complain is not enough space or pockets like those of other conti or japanese/korean cars. So kinda force me to keep it simple & not collect rubbish.

bro over-steer?? are you sure????

firstly, you will have to push the cards at great speeds before you can experience over-steer or under-steer. you are not going to feel it just by speeding a little. I have gone tracking myself so I know its not easy to over-steer/under-steer at normal speeds. besides you got brand new tires. unless you attack corners at wild speeds in the wet

secondly. your car is not rwd. how will you over-steer???

Paiseh lah bro..use the wrong terminology.. [blush] (don bash me lah..) my mistake..

Its the slight understeer that I felt when I turn into a 360 exit from expressway while raining last weekend..

I used to turn that corner previously at around 80 km/h...
