Erm... no thanks. My K3 has the auto lock function already. Don't want to end up disable it.

[laugh]

I getting a little mixed up as to who have the feature on the older K3 and who don't on the latest, pardon me

Yup 2017 EX. Unlike Jzachlee, mine only has auto unlock. Not sure why kia prioritise this feature over auto lock since its a safety feature. Door will auto unlock when open from inside anyway.

I test drove the SX i does see the word Door on the LCD. Maybe the feature is enable for keyless model while the EX is not keyless start.

Seems like the absence of auto lock is also being highlighted(complained) on Kia Singapore's FB page.

From FB:

"My Dad met the salesman to collect the car last Friday at 5:30pm. I left to attend my appointment before the sales rep came, I should have stayed knowing this was going to be a horrendous experience for him.

During hand over he discovered central door auto lock function is not set as default in this model which the sales rep did not find it a point to highlight thru out the whole sales pitch (only feedback after the issue raised, that it will be rectified for the next model current model KIA is still deciding if they plan to rectify it as "they do not have the technology"). Yes. But no android auto yet.

Waiting for Google to license android if I understand correctly.

Might take some months but should happen as Merc and many other manufacturers want android licensed by google.

I am driving a SX but cannot find the Auto lock feature, only unlock when off engine.

Guess this feature only exist in pre 2017 FL models.

Also, the car manual stated beep sound will be emitted if passengers (front or back) did not belt up when car go above 20km/hr. Tried it on my EX but didnt get the beeping... another missing safety feature?

Pre FL, 2nd batch (no EX and SX then). The warning beep only work for Driver seat belt not buckled.

Pre FL, May 16 SX. Beeps for driver seat belt not buckled in. Doesn't give a hoot if my passengers (front of back) are buckled in or not.

Just check with the my sales rep regarding the auto door lock for the 2017 K3 SX, ask him if he finds it weird that this car is filled with so many continental car features but it lacks the most basic thing of a auto lock? Even my previous crappy Fiat Punto has the auto lock function.

Ask him if this is a software issue and can I request for a software upgrades IF there's any, he said will check with the management and get back to me.

So now I'm waiting for this auto lock reply and the Airplay for the Moltrex system license which I have been waiting 3 weeks for.

I'm sure I've seen the auto lock options come up on the dashboard between the rev counter and speedometer.

It's a function that is missing in both the 2017 K3 regardless whether it's EX or SX.

Just hope that with enough people making noise they would be open to software updates to include the feature once again.

Just got a reply, they are not gonna do the auto lock features for the 2017 model. Well, this sucks.

Disappointed.

Seriously don't get it.

Its not as if its a feature worth that costs several hundred bucks. The software is already there.

Just curious why do u guys like the doors to auto lock. I personally would prefer no autolock, in case of accident at least someone can open the door from outside. If for child safety, there's already child lock for the rear seats. When I used to drive a car with autolock, I always unlock it before moving off.
