Hi Xefera, I also blur and also commented I tried some of those listed and for sure much more noise ..lol ! As yellobie mentioned, betta trust those tried by bros here ...keke ! Cheers. I am sure Michelin had done their homework before launching the tyres. Interesting thought for all. Was told by a workshop that 4WD vehicles don't need regular rotation as power is sent to all 4 wheels. Any comments?

No such thing.. wear is caused by weight and usually the front is heavier when engine is there. Ask the workshop that says AWD don’t need to rotate as 4 wheels spinning... then rear wheel drive the rear will have more wear than the front wheels?
Axeman24 2nd Gear March 10, 2018 Share March 10, 2018 Was at MI showroom at Toa Payoh just now, wanted to check out the XT, however the SE told me that cannot test drive as there are no more test drive cars now. The show does not even have any XT on display. Those who wants to buy the XT version is now all on indent basis with a 30k down payment straight away. The SE also told me in Jun or Jul, a brand new model and design Forester will be launch. Unfortunately it will only comes in NA engines and no turbo version anymore. Anyone can confirm this? Potentially new Forester http://web.motormagazine.co.jp/_ct/17151848

Scoobyfxt 3rd Gear March 10, 2018 Share March 10, 2018 Yeah. I booked mine in july 17. Collected the car in dec. From time to time, spoke to se. Also told me gen 5 no more turbo variant liao. Some news website say later may have, possibly a 1.6t same as what levorg have. But thats just talk. Not sure how a 1.6t can be adequate for a suv with awd even if it loses some weight. What is unknown is whether there will be a hybrid here. My sense is unlikely cos it will be damn ex by the time it lands here.

Anyway, when I check with one SE last week, he mentioned company didnt say anything about a new forester. If there is a new one, its lucky I didnt commit buying the existing one. Price wise, its really good for such a spacious car. And do take note, the SE sometimes will quote different price or package too. Gkevin Clutched March 11, 2018 Share March 11, 2018 Hi Speedz76, You can now get Bilstein B6 from Japanparts.com at reduced 110kYen or about sgd1.5k including shipping but not gst. All Japanese sellers locally requires trade-in of stock dampers/struts else 133kYen instead of 90kYen but I got lucky with willing seller that went to get some used ones himself and the buyer that I was getting them for had sold his fxt for me to take over. A) fxt stock spring on bilstein, - Pending B) sti springs on bilstein, or - No plan as I believe it can only be more harsh with reduced height .. sti spring with stock dampers I believe will be fine for most but will be even harder aka harsh but hope someone can try and share C) sti springs on sti inverted struts, or - Tested bro's ride* D) just change to sti springs on existing xt struts - Tested bros' rides* ... most cost effective option Also tried the following: E) Cusco Street Zero A Coilver - Tested bro's ride* F) Cusco Touring A Damper and existing xt struts - Tested bro's ride* *various other mods of arb, struts, tyres/rims etc. i.e. hard to be exact for any useful comment but only your butt feel can determine so on what rocks you. There is also HKS Hyper users I believe here and not sure any expensive Ohlin users but enough owners looking to improve their ride which suffice to say that suspension system (also stock tyres) designed in forester for terrain are understanding not ideal for our typical 100% tarmac roads, Nevertheless, coilover imho will be no doubt more harsh albeit with superior roadholding especially needed if 180km/hr chiongsters ... which is not my goal or preference. Cheers, Richard Hi Richard, Reading thru the long list of mods you have, I'd like to seek advice on your suspension setup. I'm not a chiongster but enjoy an occasional thrill over the bends since I take the clementi ave 6 exit to pie daily or BKE>PIE. This is not the priority thou. I'm trying to improve the bounciness of the car in particular the rear if it can be more targeted. My wife sitting in rear with a new born baby keeps complaining of bounciness (not harsh). She mention in her own words "its the soft bounce and not the vibration" that is making her giddy. Even my dad whom is a car noob also commented on the bounce sitting in the front. He is one whom never pumps his own car's tyre pressure till servicing and often says I pump too much on my previous sedan with lower spring. I've since done up: 1) STI Lowering Pink Spring 2) STI Flexible Rear Sub-Frame 3) STI Rear ARB 4) STI Front flexible strut bar. The front have some improvement but believe there is room for more but rear is still bad. I had a ride on 1 of the forester with Gecko coilover and it seems quite comfortable as a front passenger. I'm more into an original STI setup if possible unless after market solution is worthwhile. There is still some reluctance on the Gecko coil as the car is very much lowered till about 1-2finger or so and with alot more mods like camber etc thus a single item change may not be accurate. In the case of current setup level is not harsh, should I be looking at a firmer suspension or going lower (not preferred)? I'm considering the STI Inverted strut since I have the pink spring already or coilover is there is a street comfortable option yet firm like conti rides. anyone have any experience with these 2 or recommendations? Thank you Kevin ↡ Advertisement
