yes, rather controversial method... goes against all conventional beliefs of taking it easy during run-in period

My friend has a new 1.5 litre Scion xB... Since it has no power at all, he drives until 5000rpm all the time. So far, no problems yet..

Came across it here in OZ too, but its only the engine, what about the gearbox, bearings etc? So one would still need to take it easy for the first few kms [dizzy]

i know most conti car's engines are made to run some 200 hours before its mounted onto the car, so guess dont really need to run in right? collect the car and lay some rubber onto the dealer's car park!
