I actually get a installer to install the soundproofing. Total damage is $600 With material and installation.

Hi Dunno, so you DIY the soundproofing of your car yourself. You even put 3 layers of SP on your front doors and double layer on the floorpan/boot. Though the car may be a little heavy after this istallation, it only uses up very slightly of your fuel consumption which is peanut.

If I have of mistaken, companies doing SP does not install to the extent that your did. I believe that your car should be very very much quieter now. Minor cuts here and there are expected when one DIY and even those who provide installation on SP.

You mean it costs you just S$150 for the materials and yet get that standard that you did.

Can share the quietness of your car now for forumers information. I am sure that if you can do it and has proven to be effective, others could also learn from you by installing the SP DIY.

The car certainly is more quiet than stock. I'm driving a Rush. However, I have not figured out how to dismantle the whole dashboard to SP the firewall so the engine noise is still audible. One thing for sure, I can't SP windows, so the sound can still come through the windows. I don't really feel the vibration when bikes ride pass my car like I used to feel in my previous G9, noise is also more muffled.

Actually, for the floorpan, I only pasted one layer bitumen and one layer 1/2 inch Superlon. For wheel arcs, I used 2 layers bitumen (on the inside of the car) and 1 layer 1/2 inch Superlonon the inside of the wheel arc itself.

Because I'm driving a SUV (those who drives SUVs will know that they are noisy!), I can only insulate to near saloon car levels, but not quieter than a saloon car. The engine itself is already noisy, well, it's meant to be like that. It will be perfect if I can insulate the firewall... [:/]

My main purpose of the SP is more for installing ICE. DIY my ICE also [thumbsup]

I have tried almost everything with the exception of removing the engine and plugging my ears with ear plugs. The amount of reduction is noise is almost very small compared to the amount of money you put in.

Say the money and buy a new car.

Get a new car....well brillient idea....but the extra $$$ needed to get a new car is much more than the $600 for SP.

How I wish the gov can reduce the tax further.....then everyone can spent $70,000 to get a BMW3series!!!

Have no experience with Sunny doors, but I'm sure of one thing. Don't worry about water leaking in cos water always goes in during a downpour, even if you've never opened up before. That's why they have holes at the bottom of the doors to let the water drain out. Make sure you don't block those holes during SP [;)]

Have a lot material in the market.

I personally use 3 material.

1. Bitumen

2. Insufflex ~> cheap & good [laugh]

3. Dynamat at engine base ~> a bit ex but good

Sorry to cut into your post , but i can't post a new topic on my own yet.

would like to know more bros around in this forum where to get Dynamat sound-proofing?

and i get I.C.E to install too ?

i would like 2 do the installing of the sound-proofing and setting up my I.C.E @ the same shop.

Any senior bros around can guide me which is the shop to go?
