whether the new car we are purchasing is a test drive's unit?

One easy way to tell is probably to check the odometer reading of the car. Odometer readings for new cars are usually approx. between 2 to 40 km when it's delivered. If it's a test-drive car that they are selling you, there's usually a few hundred or a thousand odd kilometers on the clock already.

 

Of course, if the dealer is not honest, he can always reset the odometer of the test-drive car.

As for checking whether cars are test drive units or not, you might want to try the following:

- look at the odometer reading [altho some may say that they can be reset by the dealers ].

- ask the SE/dealer. What you ordered is a new car, not a test drive unit. And if you find out later that your car was indeed a test drive unit, you can them.
