Fabiaman 1st Gear November 12, 2003 Share November 12, 2003 That sounds cheap! JTA used to quoted $80 just for programming the car to lock after speed goes above 20km/h That means they also have the VAG decoder machine.. can't remember what its called. Skodee Neutral Newbie November 12, 2003 Share November 12, 2003 Looks like there's another good place to service our cars now...price maybe cheaper than servo. Anyone has re-programmed their 2001 Octy before? Mine when I start my keys to be ready for ignition, it auto locks all the doors, and when i start ignition, it unlocks and locks again within 2 secs...quite irritating to hear so many lock/unlock. May want to re-program it so that it will not autolock when I start my engine. Had a bad experience when I start engine from outside and accidentally close my door and it autolock! Engine running and gotta rush back home to get my spare key...
Fabiaman 1st Gear November 12, 2003 Share November 12, 2003 Hehee... Skodee, sounds like a lousy programme on your Octy, yah man, probably good to get it re-programmed. Mine is done at JTA free of charge, just a simple lock when car is at 20km/h... serves me real well.

Octaviafan Neutral Newbie November 13, 2003 Share November 13, 2003 Just for information. This reprogramming feature for autolock etc is only available for Ambiente and above. For Classic owners (me included), dream on . Apparently, for the Classic (= to VW Vento), Skoda did not include the additional CPU for the "Central convenience system". This convenience system controls the central lock and power window. I tried to get my classic reprogrammed at Volkshaven but they did not know and thought that I had a faulty CPU becasue the VAG1552 tool could not communicate with the convenience system CPU but it was communicating fine with the engine ECU. So, I did a bit of research and found at the following site that the following information (attached). http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/appl.../golfjetta.html golfjetta.pdf

Skoder Neutral Newbie November 15, 2003 Author Share November 15, 2003 I think that is a car from the russian ambassador...definitely not the number 1, maybe number 3 or 4 representative.
Skodee Neutral Newbie November 15, 2003 Share November 15, 2003 Mine is an Ambiente and thinking of got it reprogrammed at volkshaven. How much do they charge for this? As mine does not come with keyless entry, only installed with an alarm that does not really integrate with the car's central locking. So when I armed the alarm, the led does not blink on the driver's door, only the alarm led. ↡ Advertisement
