  1. Hi, Everyone knows that we could have huge saving on regular car servicing and or maintenance job in JB, but i know not many drivers are taking the risk. So what is your concern? 1. not familiar with the route to the workshop? 2. not familiar with the local charges for the repair job? 3. not familiar with the mechanic in the workshop there? 4. not sure if the replacement parts used is original? 5. and many many concerns... would you opt for sending your car to JB for repairs if you found a trustworthy workshop that could answer your concerns?
  2. Hi to all bro just to check with you all normally those brand new car that send to vicom for OPC inspection before the company hand over to you took how Long for them to finish everything
  3. The maid thread reminded me that my previous maid had left some of her old stuff with me. About 40kg. She was a solid maid. High recommended. I wanna send it back to her on the cheap. DHL says $454 . $454 will defintely exceed the value of the items. Any ideas? time is of no concern.
  4. hi, cousin got into accident, fully his fault. he rear ended another car. damage to his car is minimal, but damage to the other party is serious. boot cannot close, bumper dented with some cracks, bumper and headlights misaligned. just want to know, if he can settle privately, which workshop is recommended (won't carrot chop). another question, lets say the repair bill too high, then settle via insurance, my cousin wants to know what will happen. the car is his company's car and thus under commercial insurance. will his company premium go up? will there be a record on the company or on the driver? this record will be permanent? this record will affect future car purchase?
  5. I think time is running out for those hong kong protesters. matter of time before china send in the tanks.

  11. My civic is due for the 30k km servicing very soon. What happens if i dont send it back to KM? Will i void warranty or something. I have been sending my car for the 1k, 10k and 20k servicing to KM. Seems to me that the servicing is very expensive. They charged me close to $300 for the 20k servicing, so I think it will be even more for the 30k one. Am I right to assume that that it will be cheaper if done elsewhere. What are the consequences if I do it elsewhere?
  12. As above, want to know owners of OPC on how often do you all send your OPC for servicing?
  13. My guess is that the woman rode her bicycle across the zebra crossing instead of pushing it across and then the cabby suay suay knocked into her. Both were wrong but the cabby should share the bigger blame because as drivers we bo bian have to give way to pedestrians or cyclists even if we have the right of way. Unless the STOMPer was hiding something if not based on what was being described the cabby would kena jialat jialat from the authorities. And he should have sent the injured to the hospital regardless of what happened. From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...refuses_to.html Posted on 31 Jan 2012 Cabby knocks down mum on bicycle, then refuses to send her to hospital STOMPer Sharina's friend was hit by a taxi while cycling. The cabby 'made a lot of noise' when paying for her friend's injection at a nearby clinic, and refused to send the friend to NUH when the doctor recommended she go for an x-ray. The STOMPer wrote: "On Jan 26 2012, my friend was cycling along Pioneer Road North after fetching her son and was knocked down by a taxi driver at the zebra crossing. "The taxi driver did not want to take any responsibility. He only sent her to a nearby clinic and paid $64 for her injection. "He made a lot of noise when paying. He also refused to send my friend to NUH even though the clinic's doctor had recommended that my friend go for an x-ray, and my friend was unable to walk. "We told the taxi driver to send us to the nearest police station as we wanted to lodge a report. When we arrived at the Jurong Division Police Station, we were greeted by Officer Kumar who advised us to proceed to NUH and even called an ambulance for my friend. "We lodged a police report on Friday, Jan 27 2012 and we are waiting for the outcome. "I just hope that the taxi driver will be brought to justice for his carelessness."

  22. KABUL, July 1, 2010 (AFP) - A NATO soldier died in an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan Thursday, the military alliance said, the first casualty of this month after a toll of more than 100 deaths in June. The soldier died "following an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan today," NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement, without giving further details. A total of 102 foreign soldiers died as a result of the Afghan war in June, making it the deadliest month for international forces since the conflict began at the end of 2001. June's toll was almost triple the figure for May and significantly higher than the previous monthly record of 77 last August. But senior military commanders, including the new commander of foreign forces in Afghanistan, US General David Petraeus, have warned of a fierce summer of fighting to come. So far this year 323 foreign soldiers have died in Afghanistan, compared to 520 for the whole 2009, according to an AFP count based on the independent icasualties.org website. The website tracks military deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq, two US-led wars involving Al-Qaeda-linked Islamist militants. There are about 140,000 foreign, mostly US, forces stationed in Afghanistan. The troops are battling Taliban and other insurgents who are trying to topple the government of President Hamid Karzai.
