Remote Door Lock (RDL)

hi folks

 

when i got my octy in feb 01, was told that rdl will conflict with some? other? system?. just saw CA product list and among item provided for octy is rdl .

 

Is there anyone here driving octy ambiente with rdl and if so was it done in the aftermarket? can share ur expereience? would love to have one installed.

 

can anyone recommend a decent system which is not too ex?

You can get Czech Auto to order it as spare parts for you. There is a kit for installing into the Oct that came without the RDL. The remote is not too nice looking though.

JTA did bring some in for the Otavia / Fabia but due to their lack of funds and skill only a couple of them cars got installed.

 

If you go with aftermarket ones, please make sure they can handle this thing called "double-locking".

 

Yeah. I know it feels lousy. JTA has really ripped us off big time. No RDL, no rear wiper, no door open indicator. If I see any of the Lim bros, I might not be able to hold myself back but to throw a few punches.

good to know there's hope yet for rdl. do u know if CA can do the rear wiper and door open indicator as well?

 

have u had urs done? was it by CA?

 

as for the owners of the company formerly known as the official distributor of Skoda cars in Singapore and currently known as...i guess the less said the better.

my recommendation is go OEM. And you can always buy the OEM part and get my electronic/electrical installler (Ong Hock Chye) to do it if CA is charging u an arm and a leg just for the RDL installation
