Hi,

March??...cannot make it leh...find it more like a lady ride..

To me right now, it's basically Aveo, Getz or susuki ignis....But was confuse by the 1.4DOHC or 1.5SOHC for Aveo...any bros out there can comments on this?

I get between 10-11km/litre on my GETZ. From Getzclub.com, it appears that some fortunate Getz owner can get up to 12-13km/litre. I am thinking of getting grounding done for my car - this ought to improve the fuel consumption.

Unless I am mistaken, it just means that the AVEO comes in either 1.4 or 1.5CC engines.

The new renamed Kalos now as Chevy Aveo come in 1.4DOHC and 1.5SOHC, anyone can share his thought whether should go for 1.4 or 1.5, any significant difference for MT or At??

What's the price difference between 1.4 and 1.5? People have said that auto transmission is generally more efficient for 1.6CC cars and above. Manual transmission is the way to go for cars below 1.6CC. I would have opted for a manual GETZ if Komoco had brought it in. That said, I have to say that I am quite happy with my Getz auto.

Ha..went down to Komoco showrm during lunch time...Saw the silver Getz, I think it's beautiful and pretty spacious for a big guy like me as I'm 1.8 and weight abt 90kg..(hey...it's big bone not big fat ass!!haha... After adjusting the driver seat n went to the rear seat and I can still seat comfortably...

By the way, the SE there pretty steady and polite, when she saw me , she gave a big smile and just stand at one corner while I go around the car, only when I'm done then she approach me..her name's Ginny Koh, quite chiao, leh!!!! told her I'm still considering , when I ask for the price now, what freebies she can throw in, she said just state whatever I wan on the contract and bid for it..(IS this the normal procedure??I thought usually the SE will promise u upfront on those freebies that he/she can throw in...how should I do it, seh not very clear on this leh... )

Also went to BM , not much pple , most of their SE just either sitting or walking chatting around, don't even bother to acknowledge u as a potential customer, sigh... Luckily saw one of my old friend there working as a SE and he gave me a bronchure on Altis saying that's his personal copy as BM have run out of it...wow, didn't know Altis so hot...but frankly speaking it's really nice but way above my budget anyway, i prefer car with no ass...haha

PS( Bro, I have posted the price list on Chevy models , under the thread Chevy Aveo, u can check that out and the 1.5 Aveo is cheaper than 1.4 plus for 1.5 u nee to top up 1.5k for leather seat and rims)

if nothing go wrong, will be going down to RTMT at ubin to book a Getz...lookwise and especially the price pretty attractive to me at 59 888 ...shall see what freebies the SE can throw in..

Was pretty surprise this afternoon when I try on the vios, after adjusting the driver seat , went to the driver rear seat and found rather squezzy for my size but when try in Getz, I did not have the problem still can seat comfortably....Getz look small outside but inside pretty spacious...now only thinking of either Black or Technical grey colour...lot of black Getz around but this colour if really done up it's damned bloody chiao!!!

Anyway, check with u, the run in for new car is the first 1000k which should not exceed 90km/hr, is that right? after that can steady blow pipi. [laugh......during the first three service period, adding KN filter, grounding will all this void any of komoco warranty?

Guess mayeb Bro Milgram can answer on the above questions??

Wah, you so lucky, every time I head on downto KM, I never see Ginny...People have told me that she's WOW! Anyway, I guess your budget for a car should be about 60K right? The Altis should be closer to 70K, so I guess that's a no-go.

 

Btween the GETZ and Aveo, I would probably go for the GETZ as I prefer its look better (maybe I'm biased ). If you have decided on the Aveo already, it seems from the Chev Aveo thread that the 1.4CC version is more powerful. I dun have any first hand experience with it and so cannot comment on it. My advice is for you to go down to the showroom and test drive both the 1.4 and 1.5 cars. Then you'll know which one you prefer.

I have just booked a Getz this afternoon at RTMT ubin intoduced by Troy(bro from getz forum) , his sister is a SE there. Booked at 59 888, 5 drs (Black) comes with reverse sensor, leather seat by Jackspeed, alarm, spoiler and 14" sport rims. Ask for something similar to V-cool, was introduced to something similar with 10yrs warranty. Normal price at 900, quoted 600 to me....still considering, bro, u know how much it cost to install v-cool for Getz?? By the way, too bad didn't manage to squeeze her to change to a 6 disc changer, have to stick with the stock 1 disc changer.. Bro, u got any lobang if I gonna upgrade my stero system...

Hopefully , my bid will be successful...

STeady lah brudder! You have just got for yourself a really nice ride! Btw, I'm driving a black 5-door GETZ too!

 

My ride is all stock save for the rims, which I changed myself Check out the ICE folder for lobangs on stereo change, etc. Saw a car the other day (not GETZ) which had placed LCD screens on the headrest of the two front seats as well as on the front centre of the car ceiling...macam SIA plane say... The car should have installed a VCD/DVD player inside

 

I'm actually saving up for a bodykit for my ride

Happy new year to u!!! Wow, bodykit, ah?? Haven't seen one Getz with full bodykit leh.. anywhere on the net can see pics of mod Getz. Bro, u know where selling Getz bodykit?

By the way, heard some of the Getz owners(in Getzclub forum) complaining that their Getz not water proof enough, heavy rain kana water, all the floor mats soaking well but after some discussions, they found out that it happen after they install speakers in their car.. how come like that one, is it that the ICE mechanic do a shady job..bit scare leh, wait after installing new speakers, raining, i need to wear raincoat while driving...
