Super7 Turbocharged January 5, 2004 Share January 5, 2004 if his condo and saab are gifts from someone who wants to show him gratitudes and there's no way he could sell them for charity, maybe he should use them??? ..... some may say as a monk he should reject the gifts and continue to lead a 'simple' life?? Madarmour Neutral Newbie January 5, 2004 Share January 5, 2004 I don't think we should judge him on how he lives. It's what he does.

Super7 Turbocharged January 5, 2004 Share January 5, 2004 (edited) i was about to say the same: if he's helped many others and given them happier lives than before, surely he deserves to live a more comfortable life, ie he earns it. except some of his religious followers may feel he should stick with the teaching of living simple humble life.... (i am not one of his followers, so he can even drive a ferraris and stay next to the richest man in town, it doesnt bother me a bit ) Edited January 5, 2004 by Super7
Ace_t Neutral Newbie January 5, 2004 Share January 5, 2004 true and agree.... judge not others and let others not judge you.... at end of the day, we are all answerable for our actions.. be it good or otherwise. I don't think we should judge him on how he lives. It's what he does
Mondeo Neutral Newbie January 5, 2004 Share January 5, 2004 Cannot judge his life/lives But one thing for sure that the person (if has) who gave those kind of gifts to a monk, either he's a idot or other purposes....

Delvin Neutral Newbie January 5, 2004 Share January 5, 2004 cannot agree. Can he get married as a monk and we should not critise him since he has done a lot of good deeds? If he choose to be a monk then he should follow the way of life.

(i am not one of his followers, so he can even drive a ferraris and stay next to the richest man in town, it doesnt bother me a bit ) Actually, I mean if the money he used to buy his condo and car is from his own reserves, and not a percentage of donations from his foundation, I've nothing against it. I'm also OK if the car/home is a gift from well wishers. There are quite a few monks I've seen living in landed properties and driving S-Class. I do believe that some of them are quite rich even before they enter monkhood and may already have families.
Mondeo Neutral Newbie January 5, 2004 Share January 5, 2004 Hmm, sorry. For the general level of Monk-they might. But for his level of reilgion-he shouldn't, It's stated very clearly on their 'bible'. Not even wine or meat too.
Karen Neutral Newbie January 5, 2004 Share January 5, 2004 just hear that this famous monk Ming Yi is driving a SAAB. living in a condo.what's your opinion? ***************************************************** Hi Hell101, Must state that I am not a buddhism...... but I salute that man. IMHO, I think it is fine with me for a few reason, for one if he did something funny I believe the CPIB or whatsoever will be hot on his heel. next I believe in "yin guo" he must have done "something" good to own the saab and condo. if not.... the "man" up there will do "something" when the time is due. Look at the things he did..... from risking a arm or leg or maybe even his life last year to getting frosts bite or freezed to death doing a fund raising show. alot of people see the good life he may be leading, but to me nobody had seem the down side of stuffs he is going though..... he might be a CEO but everyday he has to worry about the well being of the sick people under his care. he might by running around with a saab but thats happen to be the sets of wheels that is asign to him. I don't think in the current era, monks still walk from point a to point b, I think the car can save the walking time for him in turn the time save can let him help another person in needs. I believe in order to help another person, you must help your self first. in this case let not worry what car he drive and where he lives, but what can "I" do to help others and other who are really in needs. god bless cheers karen ↡ Advertisement
