My new Kit.........

I fitted this kit to test and confirm the theory abt hot/cold air. There hv been a lot of talk abt how hot air = power loss.

Here's my honest evaluation:

After installing, there's an obvious increase in power, as in pick-up, throttle response and pulling power.

Collected my car late afternoon, and traffic was not exactly smooth. Can feel the acceleration!! But weather not hot, so immediate feel very subjective.

In evening, drove to fren's hse in Woodlands. Along Ave 12 (long straight road), drag the car all the way to redline.

Before: Very sluggish, got difficulty reaching redline, run out of breath after 4500rpm.

After: Power comes in after 3500 and pull all the way to 6000rpm, tho after 5500rpm can feel power lost. Every gear change now comes with a "blow of valve" sound alike.

Next day, under hot sun, I can feel the power not as pronounce as nite time. But when pushed, car still pull away stressless.

Verdict: Not as bad in hot weather, despite sucking in all the hot air. Lost some low-end torque, 2000 - 2500rpm.

But for $280 incl installation, its the best mod so far!! [nod]

For those who's curious abt Green. They are the No.1 performance filters in Europe and official supplier to WRC cars like Citroen, Peugeot and this year Subaru, Mitsubishi and Suzuki.

Question : Why the new intake not connected to the air sensor , which seems to remains on the old intake system ?? dizzy.gif

Yes, its connected. If its not, the ECU will go haywire.

Its a breather.Used to vent the crank case pressure.

It replaces the hose running from the valve cover to the intake pipe. This eliminates oil entering the intake path [:)]
